We had the good fortune of connecting with Evelyn Noyola and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Evelyn, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My motivation to pursue personal training stems from my desire to help my Latino family embrace a healthier lifestyle. Growing up in a family where high cholesterol and diabetes were common, I witnessed how these conditions were often managed with medication. I’ve seen my mother add more and more medications as different health issues arose, and I wanted to show her—and others—that there’s another way. They can still enjoy their favorite foods and incorporate regular exercise without feeling restricted. My goal is to prove that a healthy lifestyle can be enjoyable and that you can live life to the fullest without being limited by health issues.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart? I’m driven by a passion for helping my clients achieve their best possible health and well-being. I’m constantly seeking new knowledge, techniques & certificates to improve my craft and provide the most effective care. As a woman, I’m committed to empowering other women to embrace their bodies at every stage. We don’t need to sacrifice our well being for a certain body image. My goal is to help individuals lead fulfilling, enjoyable lives by supporting them in their journey toward a healthier, happier self. We can prioritize health and happiness without obsessing over weight.

My professional journey has been greatly influenced by the guidance of fitness professionals who have over 15 years of experience. I learned a great deal by listening to their approaches and insights, which helped me understand how they achieved their success.

Starting my business was relatively easy, but I faced my own challenges along the way. One significant hurdle was starting birth control, which led to a rapid weight gain of 30 pounds. As a fitness professional, this felt particularly taboo and triggered a lot of self-judgment. I struggled with accepting this change in my body, but over time, I learned to embrace it and remind myself that I am human too. This journey has helped me understand that I can overcome obstacles and truly accept myself. Moreover, I’ve realized that there are women just like me who I can help, free from judgment, and support on their own journeys of self-acceptance.

The lessons I’ve learned through my journey are invaluable. First and foremost, never compare your Level 1 to someone else’s Level 10; everyone is on their own unique path. There will always be ways to improve, and that’s completely okay. It’s essential to listen to the people who genuinely care about you and have been navigating this journey for a long time. Additionally, I’ve discovered the importance of accepting and embracing myself in every aspect of my life. This journey is not just about growth but also about self-acceptance and finding joy in who I am.

What I would love the world to know is that it is possible to be healthy, strong, and feel great without obsessing over the scale. Being healthy doesn’t have to be boring; you can still enjoy life and not worry about whether having a donut will ‘kill your progress.’ Don’t deprive yourself of your favorite foods—everything in moderation. Food is fuel, not the enemy.

My brand and story revolve around learning to seeing food as nourishment. I want women to learn to love their bodies and their lives, to be kind to themselves, and to embrace the joy of living. We can achieve our fitness goals without all the restrictions, deprivation, and starvation.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my bestie came to Houston, our week is going to be packed with fun activities and delicious food.

First off, we will go to the beautiful nature trails by Kingwood. We can stroll with our coffee in hand. If we’re feeling adventurous, we would try goat yoga too.

After our morning adventures, we have to grab lunch at this fantastic Korean BBQ place called Bori on Witte Rd. Then the next day, we will get creative with some candle making at b.elevated?

We can refuel with some amazing sushi at either Ginger or Akashi—both are so delicious! And if the weather’s nice, let’s spend a day walking the beach in Galveston, soaking up the sun and enjoying a meal with a view.

Another fun stop, is getting our aura photographs taken at Miixed Feelings on Gray. I think it’d be such a unique experience! And of course, we have to visit Space Center Houston—it’s a must!

It’s going to be an incredible week filled with good food and tons of cool activities.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are so many people I would love to credit for my journey. First and foremost, my mom, who has always supported my fitness ideas and business ventures. I’m incredibly grateful to Wayne and Claire, who have helped me develop my skills. Thanks to their guidance, I’ve been able to expand into Pilates instruction. My boyfriend, Jacob, has also been a constant source of support. Right now, he’s helping me with a new business venture that I’ll be releasing really soon.

I’ve been fortunate to have many role models along the way. My friend Chane, for example, has been amazing with her advice on social media. I’ve had the privilege of learning from and being inspired by so many people, including my clients. One client in particular, Carolina, has been with me for five years. Through our sessions, I’ve gained invaluable insights into working with various restrictions and limitations.

I’m also surrounded by amazing trainers who inspire me every day to keep growing and improving.
