We had the good fortune of connecting with Franco Galvan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Franco, how do you think about risk?
You have to have a feel for what’s going to pay off personally. I feel I have talent. I feel strong about the way I communicate through my talent. I’m a filmmaker, therefore I feel that a large investment in myself will pay off. And my signature brand of creativity will come through. That wage is risk in one light but the way I see it it’s just confidence and career trajectory. You’re betting on how much work you’re willing to put into something and how much you trust yourself.
What should our readers know about your business?
Well, I’d like my name to be synonymous with quality. I’m a director, my work is separated from others by a deep sense of style, humor, and signature ambiance. I want these images to stay with you forever, I want my films to last. I’m excited about my style and vision coming to the big screen and to advertising. I own my own company called Mosaic Multi-Media. We produce content. But now I’m partnered up with Farnsworth Productions in Hollywood and this will allow my network to have a much bigger reach. Was it hard? Yes. This is a tough business. Best thing to do is keep working and meeting like minded people. The portfolio of my work got me partnered up with a company that executes at a higher level. And I truly believe that’s a way to go. So me directing great local spots for restaurants etc got me a job with a company that does Microsoft ads. What I’d say is study the moves of those who work good under pressure like Michael Jordan. And what I’d want people to leave knowing about me and my brand, I’d say, it’s just work that can be thought provoking and human and full of humor and imagination.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Ahhh yes! Well here in SoCal I would take them to Palos Verdes. Just to witness beauty overlooking the ocean. Restaurants: I’d go with dinner off the San Clemente Pier. It’s really dope at night. Dinner on the water. Also I’d take them to film festival here in LA. Give them a sense of Hollywood.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Ahhh yes, Chelo Ruiz. She is the ultimate business and creative partner. We do so much wheeling and dealing and strategy behind the scenes. We are constantly bringing the work we do as a creative enterprise to so many new different directions. If you ever saw The Godfather, Chelo Ruiz would be a great Consigliere. Her official title is Creative Director / Producer. Working with her I’ve gotten out of many tight situations I wouldn’t have alone. So absolutely give her all the credit in the world.
