We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabriel Castro Enriquez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Gabriel, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Doing an artistic career (dance), for me is a way to express every feeling, every emotion I have in the moment from joy, sadness, strength and more, but above all also to help my students now feel free.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Being an artist takes you down a difficult path, full of obstacles, but few come to live from what we really love, fulfill this dream of waking up and knowing that you will do that for what you fought so much, I am proud to have this resilience, patience and above all passion.
I want the world to know me, dance on the big stages and represent my country (PERU) and continue living all my dreams that I had as a child.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I don’t have a specific place, but one of the things we would do is go out and dance without a doubt.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this to my family, especially to my mom who was at the beginning of this process where everything is more difficult, and there is uncertainty of knowing if you will make it.
