We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabriella Martin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gabriella, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
Building a business is a process – a process that includes: grit, determination and a clear vision. What keeps us going is what we are bringing to the table. Address Pending Co. is moving for the next generation and the stories that we have received from our customers over the past three years keeps us in the game. I would say, ask yourself why you are doing what you do and evaluate from there.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Oh, all of it. I wear a lot of hats. My day to day schedule is set-up using a time-blocking method. It’s certainly helpful to have laser focus on various tasks throughout the day, especially in terms of execution.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Houston is full of vitality. Personally, I find the museum scene to be one of the best. If I were to take a friend around the city, we would absolutely spend a morning at the Menil Collection, then head over to Cafe Brasil and soak in the intimate atmosphere of one of Houston’s best coffee houses! We would take dinner at Coltivare and close the day at Camerata. While in town too, we would hit Tiny Boxwoods, Cuchara, Pondicheri, and Common Bond. These are some of my favorites places in the city and absolute must-do’s while visiting town.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We would not be where we are today without the aid and encouragement of John McClymonds. John walked with us through the foundational beginnings of the company. He shared his wealth of wisdom and knowledge and we are thrilled to be able to honor him here. Additionally, Rita Leader with SCORE Houston played a big role for us. She helped with the legal piece of the puzzle. Aimee Woodall with the Black Sheep Agency served as a wonderful sounding-board prior to going live to market. Of course we would be remiss not to mention family and friends who play a vital role in our success. We are beyond thankful.
