We had the good fortune of connecting with Geromy Boynes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Geromy, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
There are many reasons why; friends, family, my passions in life and those who I now surround myself with. I’m thankful to have the opportunity to learn and grow more each day.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Honestly I never thought I would become what I am today. I was an athlete all my life and did multiple sports including my first love, taekwondo. I competed and won many titles but wanted to try something new. Music found me, after high school I remember knowing this is what I wanted to do and it was so different than what I was pursuing in college at the time. Being involved and dedicated in taekwondo for 20 years and counting; I use that fire and discipline from how I was raised in curating sounds and learning how to produce sonically. I have been making records and producing now for 7-8 years and am proud of the development throughout the years. It was not easy. No one ever taught me the software I use, and I had to take the time every day to make my sound better. I now work with artist all over the world and have released albums of music and continuing to take risk with where I can work and with who. Over the years I have learned that it is all mental. Not stopping and believing in yourself is the key to success. Work hard and keep striving for what you love to do.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We can go to multiple beaches, Tortola is beautiful and the food is very good. Pier Park is nice, or maybe a club. Morning walks are amazing and can go island hopping for a nice day on the water. Meet family, stay wherever and do whatever my best friend wants to do. Enjoy life.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shoutout Teia Lettsome. She is my girlfriend, she recommended me to you guys and gives me so much joy and inspiration each and every day. She is such an amazing person all around, motivates me to stay true to my craft and I love her.
