We had the good fortune of connecting with Abby Stoudt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Abby, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process did not have a business behind it. The only reason I have a business is because of my husband, my husband made having a business a reality. Growing up I always knew I would work for the rest of my life but I never really had a dream or thought of owning my own business.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
AbbSolute Beauty was created one day on our way back home from church, my husband was thinking and just screamed out, “I have it, I have your business name!”
My mission for AbbSolute Beauty was too reach out to all the moms, single, widow, hard working, stay at home mom’s. Mom’s are sometimes over looked, they get pushed aside but everyone knows that are the ones that make the house a home!
It was not easy getting to were I’m at right now. It took a lot of long hours, minimum wage pay to get here. My very first job was at a daycare, I worked there for 5-6 years, I was the 2 year old teacher/potty trainer. Then I went on to working at a salon called Texas hair team, they helped me that confidence boost that I needed! But God had a change of plans for me. Took a leap of faith and went on my own as a hairstylist.
The lessons I learned through this whole life Journey is the grass is greener on the other side! Never give up, it is very easy to give up especially when life challenges hit you in the face. It’s the hardest times in life that teach you the most.
The one thing I would want the world to know about my brand and story is through the hardest times in life, smile, you never know when that smile can change or touch someone completely. My favorite quote it’s from Marilyn Monroe, “A smile is the best make up any woman can wear!”
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
To the hopes and dreams that I never thought could be possible have came possible. To my husband Dustin Stoudt, thank you for pushing me and being my rock through all the trials and tribulations we went through. To a praying mother and father Miriam & Johnny Godinez, thank you for praying for me my whole life, if it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t be here. To my in-laws Bob&Tracy Stoudt, I couldn’t have thanked both of you enough, through a rough time in my life both have encourage me and lifted me up! To my sister-in-law Lexie Stoudt, I wouldn’t have picked a career if it wasn’t for you! Thank you for being the friend I needed when I had none, thank you for helping start my business, I really couldn’t have done it without you!
I can not forget my God, taking that leap of faith in the right direction, which I thought it was. No matter what, God has always made everything possible. When I wanted to give up you were always there, when I thought I wasn’t good enough you made me feel like 1 million bucks!
