We had the good fortune of connecting with Greg Hightower and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Greg, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Taking risk is the only way you can be successful. It has completely changed my life for the better. I now have multiple streams of income, due to taking risk.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the owner and CEO of the Hightower Real Estate Investment Company and Hightower Auto & Trucking. I am also the Author of ‘Do You – Part 1 of 4″. It is an inspirational book that teaches you how to live and overcome trauma. Many people are at war with themselves and are living their life to please other people. I share my experiences and challenges throughout my life, while inspiring people to live their life the way they want to. I’m very unique and have made lifestyle changes to be completely honest with myself. I’m proud of the effort and consistency I have shown at this stage in my life. I started to believe in myself and that I could achieve anything I put my mind to. I am excited about the future. I am where I am today by taking risk. I have been married to my beautiful wife of 13 years, with seven beautiful children. With one income over a span of 13 years, it would have been easy for me to make excuses on why not to take risk and to play it safe. It was not easy at all. I am human. Every day you wake up, you are not always in it mentally. There are days where you don’t want to do anything. Life is filled with distractions. You will never get from point A, to point B in a straight line. You will have to go around some things, or over them. But you have to keep moving forward. I learned to never take relationships for granted, and to cherish the moments. Celebrate the small wins in life. I want the world to know that you never know what a person is going through during life. I always make it a point to be good to people, even when I feel that they have wronged me.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For brunch we have to go to The Breakfast Klub. After we wake up from a nap lol, we have to go to Kamp Houston and have some good food, drinks, hookah, good music and just enjoy the vibe. I would take my friend to The Address as well. During one of those days, we have to hit the Turkey Leg Hut, Eddie V’s, KISS, Prospect Park, and Seaside. These places are not stingy with their food. They give you huge portions. Houston is a vibe. This city puts you on another level. It is so much to do. I love it out here.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout the United States Navy. The organization raised me and introduced me to the world. I owe all of my success to the US Navy. The relationships I have made, changed my life for the better. It also taught me that it is so much more to life than where I come from. The skills that I have learned from the Navy, I applied them to my civilian life. The rest is history. I will forever be grateful and continue to pave the way for anyone watching or following me on my journey.
