We had the good fortune of connecting with Gregory Valdez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gregory, what do you attribute your success to?
Relationship building and genuine communication with Clients. Yes, that can sound easy on paper put in reality. It takes patience and a little bit of fortitude to frequently speak with Clients.

The thing is, speaking with your clients frequently is going to create success because you’re going to be telling them what you’re up to and you’re going to be able to gauge what they think about that work in real-time.

Transparently is just honesty. If something feels like it is a bad thing, we have to slow down and deliver that issue to the Client with a solution. I’m trying to be as literal as possible while showing how this can apply to any situation.

It’s a matter of communicating what you’re doing and setting the expectations of what happens because of that work, and then relaying updates along the way whether they are positive or negative. And you always drive to a solution so they know you’re spending time on what they pay you for.

What should our readers know about your business?
We’re Gentle Renegades, a virtual ad agency for Texas brands looking to grow their audience, traffic, and conversions. We use organic and paid media content marketing to grow your organization’s brand with short-term and long-term results. Essentially, we provide an ad agency experience at the fraction of the cost.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We’re going to start our morning visiting the sculpture garden outside of the Museum of Fne Arts Houston. Then breakfast has to be at La Mexicana, off of Fairview, down the road.

From there, it’s worth taking a trip down Westheimer to show what Houston is like among the hustle and bustle of businesses. That would take us to Chinatown for lunch, where we get to enjoy Tiger Den or another restaurant, you can only find there.

At sunset, the botanical gardens will look beautiful and and a lap around them will make sure we’re hungry for dinner. Where? I think this perfect day should end at Cannonball Rosie, one of the only Michelin honorable mentions in the city, that won’t break your bank account into pieces.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shout out this short list of people who have made it possible so far: Melissa Elizondo, Terry Croft, Jill Chapman, Ben Sanchez, Donelle Mendoza, Aaron Burgett, Katlyn Brown, Chris Snider, and Larry Rodriguez.
