We had the good fortune of connecting with Hunter Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hunter, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I draw inspiration from a diverse array of sources. Japanese and mid-century modern architecture profoundly influence my aesthetic sensibilities, while street and high-end fashion fuel my creativity with their dynamic interplay of tradition and innovation. Graphic design captivates me with its power to communicate complex ideas visually. Musically, the rich textures of jazz and R&B provide a special source of inspiration. Most importantly though, I find the greatest inspiration in the people around me, whose experiences and perspectives profoundly shape my outlook.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a multidisciplinary artist specializing in photography, screen printing, and graphic design. What truly sets my work apart is the unique perspective shaped by my childhood experiences. These formative years have profoundly influenced my artistic vision and approach.

My professional journey has been defined by a willingness to step outside my comfort zone. I believe that real growth and achievement come from challenging oneself to embrace the unfamiliar and take risks. This mindset has propelled me to continually push my boundaries and explore new creative horizons.

Overcoming challenges has been a significant part of my path. I’ve learned to trust my instincts and stay true to my vision, even when faced with doubt or criticism from others. This unwavering belief in my potential has been crucial in navigating obstacles and achieving my goals.

The lessons I’ve learned along the way are invaluable. I’ve realized that, in the grand scheme of things, many of the pressures we place on ourselves are inconsequential. It’s essential to maintain a sense of humor, find a true sense of purpose, and understand that it’s impossible to please everyone.

My message to the world is one of empowerment and inspiration. I want people to know that they can achieve anything they set their minds to. Excellence is attainable in any field with dedication and passion. As a brand, our mission is to encourage people to perceive the world differently and to inspire the next generation of creatives to pursue their dreams with confidence.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
That’s a fantastic question. If my best friend were visiting the area, I’d ensure they experienced the very best of what Houston has to offer.

First and foremost, we would embark on a culinary adventure. We’d start with a meal at Le Jardinier at the MFAH, followed by a visit to RiceBox in the Heights. We’d enjoy the vibrant flavors of Niko Niko’s in Montrose and refresh with a visit to Juiceland. Gus’s Fried Chicken would be a must for some Southern comfort food, and Mai’s in Midtown would be our late-night destination for pho, as it stays open until 3 AM. Of course, no trip would be complete without indulging in the chicken and waffles at The Breakfast Klub.

In terms of nightlife and relaxation, we’d spend an evening at The Flat, enjoying house music in a cozy, laid-back atmosphere. For a change of pace, we’d savor a slice of pizza while listening to jazz at Neighbors in the East End.

There are numerous intriguing spots to explore in Houston. We’d visit the renowned museums, including the Houston Museum of Natural Science and the Contemporary Arts Museum. A trip to the NASA Space Center would be both educational and awe-inspiring. We’d also stop by Eden Plant Shop, browse through vinyl at local record stores, and take a leisurely walk around Buffalo Bayou. Supporting local businesses in Montrose and exploring the diverse offerings at POST Market in downtown would also be on our itinerary.

As for exciting people, I would introduce them to my talented friends, Era, Xonda, and Jordy. These phenomenal DJs create an incredible atmosphere every Tuesday at The Flat from 9 PM to 2 AM, spinning the best house music in Houston.

This itinerary would provide a week full of unforgettable experiences, showcasing the rich culture, vibrant music scene, and diverse culinary landscape of Houston.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the many individuals and organizations who have been instrumental in my journey. These remarkable people inspire me to persevere each day. Special thanks go to my parents, Aireana, Castle, Patric, Robb, Era, Xonda, Jordy, Be Someone, 9th Sage, Solwave Collective, Don, David, Daniel, Jessy, Vilma, Aj, Tharindu, Sam, Josh, Rachel, Alex, Christian R., Christian M., Hayden, Teige, Joe, Chris, and countless others. Your unwavering support, encouragement, and inspiration have been invaluable to my success truly.
