We had the good fortune of connecting with Ishisha Hickman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ishisha, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?

Other than deciding to work for myself, the single most important decision I made that contributed to my success was choosing to leave an abusive relationship and create a safe, stable environment for my children and myself. This decision empowered me to take control of my life and instilled in me the resilience and determination to overcome obstacles and relentlessly pursue my goals. Facing such a challenging situation taught me the value of perseverance, self-belief, and the importance of protecting and nurturing my family, which has been the foundation of all my subsequent achievements.
However, my journey was not without its struggles. In 2018, I faced significant legal challenges that impacted my family deeply. Despite presenting clear evidence of my ex-partner’s dangerous behavior, the court’s decision, presided over by Judge Sheri Y. Dean, and influenced by both TSU Alumni Amicus Ad Litem Bobbie Young and his lawyer from Austin, Tx as well, Reneka Catie Hayes, did not prioritize the safety and well-being of my then 7-year-old daughter, Aaliyah.
The court’s decision to place her with her father, despite his violent past and manipulative behavior, was devastating. My concerns and evidence were overlooked, and I was unjustly threatened with jail for defending my daughter’s safety. This experience highlighted severe flaws in the family court system, where, in my case, the needs and safety of a child were overshadowed by other interests.
Every child deserves to be in a safe and nurturing environment, and it is crucial that the legal system supports and protects those who genuinely have their best interests at heart. This experience, although painful, reinforced my commitment to creating a secure and loving home for my children and fueled my drive to succeed against all odds. I can only hope and pray the TIKTOK famous Candice Matthews takes interest in all parties involved in this very illegal setup.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.

Thank you for the opportunity to share my story and the work I am passionate about. As a domestic violence survivor, my journey has been challenging, yet it has led me to a place where I can now help others facing similar struggles.
I operate a remote call center that provides employment opportunities to men and women who have been marginalized and counted out. This initiative is not just about offering jobs; it’s about restoring hope and rebuilding lives. I am immensely proud of this work because it empowers individuals to take control of their futures, regain their confidence, and achieve independence. Despite facing challenges, such as some contractors taking advantage of my trust or spreading falsehoods, I remain steadfast in my belief that the right people who genuinely need and appreciate our services will come.
In addition to the call center, I offer credit repair services to help those struggling with their finances. Restoring credit is a critical step in rebuilding one’s life, and I am committed to providing the tools and support necessary for financial recovery and stability.
A significant personal challenge I faced was being diagnosed with PTSD AFTER the abduction of my oldest daughter, Aaliyah O. Fowler, by her father. Despite his claims of concern over my mental health along with refusing me my supervised visitations to see our daughter, his actions have caused immense pain which God is aware of. This traumatic experience has deeply affected me and her siblings, but it has also propelled me to create joyful and meaningful experiences for my other children. Through Travorium, I have been able to travel affordably, taking my children to places like Disney World. This has been a source of healing and happiness for our family, and I owe a great deal of gratitude to David and Adela Hart, the CEO of Travorium, whose generosity has made this possible.
I am also grateful to my mentors in the Oil Enthusiasts community, Will Zanders, Sonic Jones, and Marcus Jones, along with the Diamond Army. Their mentorship has been invaluable, helping me reach a point with iRise Essentials backed by goDesana and Heart & Body Naturals where I can say I am worth $100k a month and love sharing it with those in need. I believe it is your right and responsibility to educate yourself in health and medical knowledge. This financial success allows me to give back and support others, bringing me immense joy and fulfillment.
I hope to build my nonprofit with the support of like-minded, generous donors who see and understand my vision.
The lessons I have learned along the way are numerous. I have learned the power of resilience, the importance of surrounding oneself with supportive and positive influences, and the value of helping others as a means of healing oneself. I want the world to know that no matter the challenges you face, there is always hope. With determination, faith, and the right support, you can overcome any obstacle and achieve great things.
My brand and my story are about transformation, empowerment, and hope. I am dedicated to using my experiences and resources to uplift others, showing that even in the darkest times, there is light and a path to a brighter future.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to several incredible people and organizations who have been instrumental in my journey.
First and foremost, my personal mentor, TJ “DA Boss” Flowers, deserves immense credit and recognition. TJ took me under his wing during a time when I needed guidance the most. His unwavering encouragement and belief in my potential have been a constant source of motivation. TJ has a remarkable ability to see the best in people and push them to achieve higher levels, regardless of the obstacles they face. His mentorship has been a beacon of hope and strength in my life, and I am forever grateful for his support.
I also want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the nonprofits that have provided unwavering support in meeting most of my needs. Their assistance has been invaluable, giving me the resources and support necessary to navigate challenging times and build a better future for myself and my children. I do wish there was stronger legal support to fully address and undo the injustices my family has faced. For instance, the DAs who lied and got a protective order falsely dismissed resulted in Aaliyah being placed in her father’s care. Had they been honest and sent him to jail for violating the protective order by coming to my home, Aaliyah would never have been put in his care. Additionally, a particular cop in Katy, TX, right before that huge flood, should have arrested Aaliyah’s father when he was found on my property after I showed the officer the certified protective orders. Handling that should have been his immediate priority.
Too often, cops, DAs, CPS, family court judges, protective order judges, and people in higher positions fail us without considering the well-being of the child involved. When will enough be enough?
Additionally, I want to acknowledge the Facebook-known book publisher, Kendra Sykes. Despite the setbacks with the publishing process, she inadvertently taught me a profound lesson. Her actions reminded me that, despite setbacks, greater things are on the horizon. I trust that Allah/God has a greater plan for me, and I am confident that becoming a best-selling author and a profound speaker is part of that journey. I believe in allowing God to fight my battles.
Finally, I want to recognize all those who have lied about me and counted me out without knowing the facts. To the individuals who supported Aaliyah’s father by making false CPS reports, despite never having met me or been around Aaliyah, shame on you. Your actions have put another mother in a heart-wrenching situation, preventing her from seeing her child. Your lies and manipulations have only fueled my determination to succeed. Each challenge has strengthened my resolve to rise above and prove you wrong.
Thank you to everyone who has played a part in my story. Your influence, whether positive or negative, has shaped me into the resilient and driven young phenomenal woman I am today.
Also, GambiWives Inc we are dedicated to empowering girls and women by providing essential sanitary napkins, educational materials, and much more.
