Hi Isis, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
We’re Kind, We can, We will, We’re Great

At Dream Team Elite Cheer Company, we end every practice with these affirmations and they hang high on the banners parallel to the mirrors at our facility.
We instill these words in every athlete that trains at our cheer gym. These affirmations represent the character of our athletes inside and outside of the gym.
We lead with kindness in all things we do
We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us
We will try our best, over come obstacles and be the best in all aspects in life
We’re great because we believe that PERIOD.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Dream Team Elite Cheer Company is a competitive cheer gym that uses cheer as a platform to build character, community and confidence in athletes ages 4-16. We train in the sport of competitive all star cheer.

Outside of cheer, we participate in community service giving back to the community, character development workshops, and collaborate with other small businesses to provide experiences for the youth.

I am a former NCA Instructor with over 20 years of cheer and coaching experience. My passion for cheer and mentorship started the Dream for Dream Team Elite Cheer Company.
It was not easy, as a small business, finances was one of the biggest challenges. I fundraised and asked for small contributions in addition to taking a personal loan to start the business. Collaborative partnership efforts presented to be a challenge as well. To overcome the challenges, we set goals, expectations, planned the work and worked the plan remaining steadfast with our goals.

Lessons learned along the way include being intentional with ideas and goals, document everything, create a strong team to work with you and who align with your vision.

Dream Team Elite Cheer is a boutique diverse cheer competition cheer gym. We are the first and only black owned competitive cheer gym in Pearland, TX. We were founded on principles that build kindness and character in our athletes. We would love to continue to grow our DTE families.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Houston Texas has a lot of fun and active activities for adults and youth in addition to the best restaurants in the U.S.
I would recommend KnP Social for a date night or family day, enjoy a day of outdoor activities at Discovery Green, or take a night ride downtown on the electric scooters to enjoy the view. We would have breakfast at Breakfast Klub and enjoy dinner at Houston’s new restaurant Koya.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We want to shoutout our Dream Team Elite Cheer families who inspired us to open the facility. These parents make it happen for their athletes no matter the cost. They are committed to the program, and always advocate for our small business. Over the last 3 seasons, we have extended our services to over 100 families in the greater Pearland, TX area. Our Dream Team Elite families have played an integral part in our success and we are proud to call them DTE family.
