We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaae and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaae, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting my business came from me wanting to build a legacy and an empire. I always knew that I wanted to be in business for myself as well as create some thing that can be passed down from generation to generation. After all that is the American dream right Lol?

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think that what sets me apart from other people is probably the position that I write music from. I usually write music from a first person perspective but I am writing from the behalf of somebody else. I haven’t seen too many people take this approach to writing and I like to make sure that I’m writing from a realistic place. I’m most proud and excited about my future in the business i think that there is a Open lane in which I’m able to comfortably navigate in and I’m excited for that. It took me a while to get to where I am today professionally I’ve been following my dreams since I was 15 years old and have put in the hard work a lot of countless and sleepless hours a lot of blood sweat and tears and I mean that literal and I think that all has contributed to the type of artist and to my level of advancement that I am in today. It was absolutely not easy and I think that anybody that is a creator or owns a business can tell you the same thing we all stumble at the beginning at the middle and currently, But we get back up and we get back at it. A lesson that I learned along the way was to never take things personal because things have a way of changing for the better. I want the world to know that you have the power to change your life and I want them to know that my brand is very much representative of that.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my friend was visiting the city for a weeklong trip I would first and foremost take them to my favorite empanada spot cold mamas empanadas. Along the trip I would probably take them to areas such as blockheads, the ice cream museum, the museum of natural history, walk through Central Park, Flor de Mayo Cuban Chinese restaurant, and of course the Yankees game.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I can a credit a lot of people God first and foremost seasons my environment music for being very inspirational to my success. People such as my family my best friends my peers, have all played a role, whether it was negative at the time or positive. My environment because I get inspired by what’s around me and that’s how I’m able to create. And of course music because music evolves and I have to pay homage to those that came before me such as Chris Brown Bobby Brown Michael Jackson Prince just to name a few. Shout out to the universe.
