We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacori Zephyr and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jacori, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Hearing and seeing the reactions of different people after their massage, is the best part! That’s what makes me happy. I get to help people feel better, physically and mentally. For me, that’s why it’s all worth it.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m not where I want to be yet. Finishing school, has made things easier, but I still have work to do with establishing myself and building the company I plan to. I’m excited and proud of how far I’ve come while being a student. I created a huge foundation that I couldn’t even imagine and it’s still growing. I’ve met some amazing people and gotten advice from them all throughout the process. I like to be different. I wanted my work to be that of a combination of things and I think I’ve done that. I wanted to give people a variety of massages with my flavor in techniques. It hasn’t been easy, but I kept at it everyday. I’ve been mentally and physically drained, but that didn’t stop me. I found ways around that. I also learned that you can’t please everybody and that no matter how hard you try, there will be some backlash. I just keep trying to improve to make myself better and my product better. I want the world to know that I’m dedicated to the people and giving them a better product, and customer service than they’re used to.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
To start, food is easy. We’re going to eat good. The Twisted Grilled Cheese, is a nice spot and I’m in love with Rouxpour! The museum district has always been interesting and has some nice views from some of the buildings. We’d definitely spend a lot of time at the gym, working out and playing basketball in between exploring. Houston is full of daily events so it would be easy to wing it, itinerary free.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Every client deserves all of the credit. It’s them who make me who I am. Every time they book a session or spread the word to others, they’re promoting me and bringing awareness to my work. Without their feedback and advice, I wouldn’t have grown as much as I have.
