We had the good fortune of connecting with Janae Clarkson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Janae, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting a business can be scary when you take in to consideration the pros, cons, and risks. The idea has always been there but the pandemic gave me that extra push to turn it into a real business. My mom started out decorating rooms as a gift for her friends and I always thought that idea was dope. Noticing a lack of intimacy in many relationships, we wanted to bridge that intimacy gap between men and women while also incorporating my mom’s idea for weddings nights. We create an overall intimate experience between couples to help assist in creative ways to indulge in romance. As women we crave this however, most Men don’t think outside of the box when it comes to romance and intimacy. We are lovers of love that have a passion for what we do and found a creative way to help “bring intimacy back to relationships.”

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We are a high-end romantic decorating service that does special occasion decor in homes, hotels, and vacation rentals. None of our rooms are the same and each room is personalized. We get to know the couple’s personality and style based on personalized questions regarding their desires. We ask your favorite colors, numbers, initials, shapes, dessert, drink, fragrance, candy, etc and incorporate these things into the room. Our conversations are confidential so the room can be as nice or naughty as you would like. Has it been easy, not at all but I know we have something special and with continued support we will remain steadfast because our reason for doing this is beyond just profit. Because we are doing something different most people assume we just throw roses around and light a few candles, but what we are serving is a complete experience! We are working with personal chefs, soloists, a saxophonist, novelty distributors and other local small businesses to help enhance the experience for each couple. We even have a Scavenger Hunt Package. For our wedding packages we incorporate the wedding colors, memorable keepsakes from the wedding, and even have a plate waiting in the room for the bride and groom so they can enjoy the food they paid 1,000s of dollars for. We are very creative and can take your romantic imagination and evolve it into the ultimate intimate experience. We are here to help rekindle that spark and put intimacy back at the forefront of relationships.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Houston is full of so many hidden gems and has a little bit of everything for everybody. Some breakfast spots I enjoy are The Breakfast Klub and Frank’s. There are always nice pop up interactive venues like Candytopia and right now Fomo Factory that are Instagram pic worthy. For lunch/dinner I would suggest Jus Mac, their old bay wings are amazing. Krav’n Cajun is another great food spot with bread pudding that’s to die for. Also Rainbow Lodge and Taste Bar & Kitchen have a nice atmosphere with even better food. For the nightlife I would go to Prospect Park where u can enjoy hookah, good music, drinks, and their crown apple wings (thank me later). Lol For a good turn up with a night to remember we would go to the Address. In between we can hit up a comedy show, adult skate night, or even listen to a live band. Like I said there’s so much here so they will definitely enjoy themselves and have plenty to share of their travels here.

First I must give all glory and honor to God for his continued grace and mercy because this would not be without Him. Thank u for rocking with us from the beginning and believing in our vision, it means more than you know. Shoutout to my mom for the idea and trusting us to turn it into an amazing business. Lastly, to my sister Shawn, who is my right hand in making this ship sail smoothly. Whenever I need you you are there without hesitation and we creatively come up with great ideas to add to an even better experience for our couples. This business would not be without any of you and for that I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
