We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeff Djayasaputra and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jeff, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?

I still remember back when I was a boy, I used to love collecting scenic postcards from virtually every travel destination my dad took us for vacations. I enjoyed the images so much that I tried to draw them with pencil on paper. I lost most of them now, but now that I think of it, creativity has always been a part of me from my early age.

In my early work experiences, I was exposed to different facets of multimedia production including web design, video production, 3d animation, trade show interactive kiosks, photography, architecture, freehand drawing and graphic design. Those takeaways allowed me to be flexible with what I can do, and I am always looking for new opportunities where I can leverage my diverse ability and experiences.

Architectural photography and virtual tours are great mediums for me to channel my creativity and make my visions come true. The process of capturing and transforming real sceneries into photography and virtual tours, in ways that retains the charm and elegance on digital and print form and makes it timeless, is a challenge that I enjoy doing.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Besides doing my architectural photography service, I started Bayou City 360 as a Google Business Virtual Tour trusted agency in 2012. Unlike other services that are already known and accepted by the consumers such as web designs or print design, Google virtual tour was still a new technology and many business owners did not know about it. So one big challenge unique to my business was that I needed to persistently introduce Virtual Tour to the market. I met with owners of shops, venues, spas, dental practices and many others and explained the great benefits to featuring their business in Google Maps along with 360º Virtual Tours.

In 2021, the job has become easier because the track record is already there; Google provides quantitative research, you can track view counts and many of my past customers shared their feedback on how beneficial the virtual tours have been for their business for years.

Presently, Bayou City 360 is a studio that specializes in helping businesses’ visibility with exceptional online and visual solutions. After nine years in business, our capability grows to include High End/Boutique Virtual Tours, Architectural/Commercial Photography, Drone Visuals and Boutique Web Design including Virtual Tour integration on websites. My niche is for businesses who want their Virtual Tours and Photography done with quality and care, where they plan to reap its benefits for a long time. In these days of single-click automated solutions, history has proven that human touch always has its place, and that the highest end works are still done by human talents.

I believe what sets us apart is our dedication to be unique and to not follow the crowd. We try to be different in a good way, by continuously improving our work quality, staying ahead of the curve and investing in the best equipment and software in the market. We also understand that we are here to help our clients, so we always do our best to make the process as easy and smooth as possible for our clients by being there at every step of the way.

Last but not least, one great thing about being a Photographer and a Google Business Virtual Tour provider is how it really connects me to Houston and its community. It is great to be able to support the dynamic economy that Houston has, and to see my works representing many businesses of the city. After many years, many of these businesses have grown, opened up new locations, expanded, or ventured into new business areas. They are living proof that if you promote your business well, in my case with Photography and Virtual Tours, people will notice you and use your services and products.

I would encourage business owners to get your Google Business Virtual Tour. An authentic Virtual Tour tells your viewers that you have a real business and a real location. This ‘walking’ experience link gives your business the stamp of authenticity that regular photos can’t do, and strengthens your Google SEO over time. With such an engaging platform, online viewers are informed about your business in a way that leaves them with strong visual and muscle memory. So if you have a business with actual space you are proud of, go get your Google Business Virtual Tour!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
About half time of the year Houston has amazingly pleasant weather that makes going out such an enjoyable activity. During those times, I love getting outside, and sharing what Houston offers with visitors. I take them to parks and urban spaces, such as McGovern Centennial Garden, Houston Botanic Garden, Buffalo Bayou, and Rice University. It doesn’t hurt that these parks are great for pictures.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

I would definitely thank my parents and family for their unconditional support of my working hard to achieve my dreams. I also would like to show appreciation to my friends who help me pave the way and have inspired me through the years.

Also, I am grateful for the opportunity created by Google Maps; they are really making a difference in the world with their mapping technology.

Google’s integration of 360º walkthrough as part of their location information really takes online maps to a different level. When they launched it in 2012, the ability of map users to ‘walk inside’ your building was pretty amazing . For me and many others it opens up a new market niche to provide Google Virtual Tour services. Businesses, as well as online users are embracing it, and on a larger scale, the introduction of 360º walkthrough to the world is really a game changer.
