We had the good fortune of connecting with Briana Lindsey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Briana, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I started my own business to get me one step closer to financial freedom. Being a single mother and having graduated college during COVID, I had to learn to navigate life without the things I was used to. That means not being able to take my daughter to daycare everyday because they closed during COVID, and now being an entry level job seeker competing with other who had more experience but lost their jobs due to COVID. I needed to find a way to make money while still being able to be in control of my own time.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Bodied By Bri provides Body Sculpting and Post-op Care to women who have undergone cosmetic surgery or women who are looking for achieve their body goals with non invasive procedures. Bodied By Bri is dedicated to women whose main objective is to have confidence in their body and fall more in love with their appearance. I’d like to look at my services as an experience that my clients will have no desire but to incorporate into their lives frequently. One of my greatest goals is to provide quality sculpting and contouring services while educating each client to maintain a healthy diet and make the lifestyle changes necessary to achieve body goals. Starting my business was easy for me because I love what I do. I love when my clients are happy to come to me and even more happy when they leave. the most rewarding is when they leave me reviews on google and express how they feel in their own words. I have learned a lot about the service industry and entrepreneurship. Everyday is not always busy but you can never stop promoting or thinking about what’s next. I overcome my challenges by not letting yesterdays problems affect todays success. Everyday is a new day to be great.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would start by visiting the Breakfast Klub. I love their chicken and waffles. We would then head to the Galleria Mall to do some shopping. I would take her to the downtown aquarium to ride on the Ferris wheel and experience the underwater shark trains and then walk around the park at Discovery Green. We would then go visit the Turkey Leg Hut and get one of their signature 1942 drinks and a Cajun Bowl. For some weekend night life, I would take her to Seaside day party, Space night club, and Chapman & Kirby for Sunday brunch.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My cousin/ Texas Realtor, Courtney Okanlomo, deserves recognition for her support and mentorship during the time I was starting my business. She helped me with the tools and supplies I needed to get started and also shared with me some marketing tools and strategies that helped get my name out there and gain new clients.
