We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonny Phoenix and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jonny, how do you think about risk?
If it wasn’t for taking risks I would have stayed a bedroom music producer lol. I am glad that even though I can be Introverted I still have enough in me to take risks and go meet people & socialize. It’s always that day you weren’t feeling it and you wanted to stay in but went out anyways and met some potentially great people.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Music production can be a form of therapy for a lot of artists, So I make sure I create a safe atmosphere before we start creating. The best part about the creation process is getting to know people and their stories while making music. The hardest part is when you have no motivation to make anything. How I usually cope with “not feeling it” is go outside, hang out with friends, do things other the music.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I usually just try new spots, so i’m usually the one asking people what are the hot spots lol
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d really like to shout out my friends that always encourage me to do my best, Nayyz, Majesty, Adam, Desanti & Henry.
