We had the good fortune of connecting with José García and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi José, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
At first like many, maybe I felt afraid but even so I took a risk because I was tired of working in a restaurant all the time and it was time to start my on my own.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What have I achieved? Perhaps in view of many who have had it all or life has been easier to read, it is nothing or very little! But for me that I come from another country without knowing the language and starting from scratch I know the achievements and pazos that I have achieved and I know where I want to go, I still have a long way to go and I know that it will not be easy until today but with faith In God and with a lot of work, everything is possible if one fights for dreams and to achieve goals, and what do I want them to see in me? Well, just as I could, you can also make your life and that of your families change and also as a community, support us to continue growing because we all need everyone.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, most of my friends are here in Houston, tx, but if so, I would take him to places of Latin food here in the area, as well as cook him some exquisite fresh seafood from the same product that I sell, and of course take him to visit the city, the beach and the tourist sites that this space city offers us, as well as talking about the warmth and the kindness and friendliness of the residents that we are here
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Well, first I want to thank God for the life and for the things that I have had to live since I arrived in this country, then also thank my family and mother and sisters, friends who in one way or another have supported me to pursue my dreams. And not letting my self fall into life which is a constant struggle, thanks to my clients that it is very important to mention them because it is they who make me continue working day by day and doing what I like to do and also thanks to you for giving me a space for this interview and recognition.
