We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalie Kirtley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natalie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I felt like there was a huge gap in online boutiques. They were missing the unique and quality of hand picked items like normal brick and mortar stores. I wanted that high end look with out the high end price. All I saw on facebook was the same clothes and I knew there are customers like me who want that boutique line without the high price tag!
What should our readers know about your business?
What makes me different is that I am a very picky buyer. I don’t chase all the trends. I like to find unique stand out pieces of clothing that will last through time. Clothing that you can still love for many years. I am most excited about growing and building new relationships in my community! I am still new and learning every day! I don’t think I have arrived yet I am just loving the journey and all the people I have met through stepping out and opening my own business.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love downtown Tomball. I would take them to the farmers market on Saturday. We would also have to go to a show at the Main Street Crossing. We would eat the sopa de pollo at Ciscos and grab a slice of pie at the Whistle Stop Cafe! I love my little community so we would probably hang out there!!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My aunt. Becky Buck has been in the boutique industry for almost 20 yrs. She owned a very prominent high end store in Georgia and she is the one who started my love of the small boutique business. The way she picked out every item for her store. She always had so much thought into it. Every piece told a story. She loved every customer and vendor she worked with. I aspire to be a kind, caring and fashion forward buyer just like her. To also love on my customers just they she did for so many years.
