We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeaux Mayo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jeaux, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own meant having a long term vision. An independent vision. A vision that didn’t lean on the decisions of others. For a long time, my future was contingent on a big break, and though that sounded nice in reality it was dependent. Once I realized who I was as a person I realized what I wanted to do with my life. I found direction. Once I found direction, ambition was a given.

Knowing about Jeaux Mayo is knowing about God Will Increase. My experience as an artist, from the time I was 17 years old to now at 27 years old has been the consistent movement of God working much out of little. From finding an old notepad with my raps in a dirty old room in the middle of the night to releasing music as I please, getting features from some of my favorite artists and ultimately doing what I love, God has shown me that the increase I need only comes from Him. And it comes from seemingly impossible circumstances. This was not easy. God being my increase, in a lot of situations, meant that I had to pass up on a lot of opportunities. I had to watch many others succeed and wait my turn. I had to get some situations in order in my home before I was even able to step outside. And even though those times were painful and seemingly endless, they made me into the artist I am today. The time that I was quiet I was learning. Failing a lot, but learning. The only way I made it through was to lean into the resistance I was experiencing. I had to embrace my discomfort and realize its necessity. So now, when you hear Jeaux Mayo you hear maturity. When you hear Jeaux Mayo you hear Jeaux Mayo. You don’t hear insecurity. You don’t see a mask. You don’t hear someone who wants to buy your attention. You hear an artist who has learned the skill of artistry. That skill being discipline, patience, commitment to excellence, and talent.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ima be real witchall. I don’t be out like that. Ima house to house person. So we either going to my house or In N Out. lol
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
In all truth, my shout out is to my wife, Private Chef and Owner of Key’s Kitchen ( @officialkeyskitchen), Keyshana Mayo. She is the one who encouraged me to perform and believed in my vision and ability to write. She has seen me at my worst and still loved me and stayed with me. I was taught how to love through her. Taught how to care about someone other than myself. God used her in my life to teach me how to be a man. My love for her continuously gives me life and shows me the true definition of Christ’s love for His people. I’d be a fool to not recognize her. She is my biggest supporter, and closest friend. I can confidently say she truly wants the best for me. And she’ll tell me if my music wack.
