We had the good fortune of connecting with Frank Campos Jr and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Frank, what inspires you?
I’m inspired by the people around me. I always try to push the pen on what I can do and when I think I reached my limit, my team is there with a splash of motivation to where I can continue my efforts to make a cultural shift in my city & beyond.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Wavez Movement is much more than a blog, we’re on a way to be media beacon here in the city and throughout Texas where we can create a wave length of connection from city to city. We conduct our writing and support with the people behind the music, an artist is a persona they use to construct their music and story out of but we like to get to know the actual person and speak to them on a more personal relationship basis. We don’t this for clout or personal interest, this is all built for the love of the culture.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Midnight Swim would be our first recommendation spot and possibly our only one. I don’t drink at all but I have friends that go and they speak very highly of all the drinks and food available. I’ve gone three times to enjoy the spacious venue and the atmosphere of everyone enjoying their time and being carefree is a delightful vibrancy you want in your bar/venue. If I had to choose another, it probably be The Vaulti, House Of Sin & True North. Some of the best places to get the flyest and dopest garments.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Too many to name really, I’ve had inspiration everywhere in my journey so far. Working with Scoremore Shows under Kevin Hayden’s guidance, working with my team: David, Kevin, Carter & Anthony. Being in an amazing 4 year relationship with my fiancée Domonique who motivates me everyday to apply pressure to my writing. Of course I wouldn’t be anywhere if it wasn’t for the artists here in my city and throughout Texas that has kept me feeling like I’m cloud nine. The feeling is monumental and I enjoy to know my writing made someone’s day.
