We had the good fortune of connecting with Juls Ochoa and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Juls, how do you think about risk?
Oh man, I believe every risk you take in life is worth it. No matter what happens, you’ll grow, you’ll learn, and you’ll succeed. Most of my life experiences came from taking risk and I could not be more grateful for each one.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Letting go of fear; releasing all the worry behind if I’m going to be successful in my art and creatives. It took me a long time to get where I am today because I thought I had to live a certain life. My art represents a lot of my personal healing, and spiritual journey, in hopes to open people up to different perspectives; which is why I stay more on the abstract side. My art is to inspire those to open up deeper and go bigger without any limitations I’m excited to bring more of my creations to life to touch those who may need a little light, as I do create with lots of love and appreciation.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Houston has amazing spots all over it’s kind of tough to narrow down! My favorite area to hang out would definitely be Montrose area. It’s filled with amazing thrift stores, and coffee shops like Agora, and Brasil. The people are so nice and authentic in every way, my friends and I always have a good time out there. When I want to get away from the city I love to hike out in Huntsville, and relax by the lake; there are many trails within the city as well friends and I will hang out at.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family, friends, and supporters all deserve recognition as well. I wouldn’t have made it as far if it weren’t for their constant love and support.
