We had the good fortune of connecting with KAE & Kay of Memoire.co and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi KAE & Kay, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting Memoire.co was to create a feel good business that promotes being resilient. Being from New Orleans, La. we are taught to withstand the strong storms that will come your way in life. Memoire.co is a Boutique that has been nurtured by two Philanthropist that love to see people feel their best as well as look it. We went through a dark time where we lost someone very important to us. Our grief inspired our Hustle. It motivated us to build a brand that can help others as well as put us in a position to create wealth for our families.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Both business owners of Memoire.co are a part of the hospitality industry. We both agree that the hospitality industry gives us hands on experience on how to socialize with our customers. Working so closely with people everyday gives us an opportunity to interact with different people from all over the world and learn first hand good communication skills. We love interacting with people and learning new things. We take pride in customer service and customer care. The lessons I’ve learned along the way is that being kind and networking can take you to new heights in your career. We would like the world to know that doing business with Memoire.co ;whether shopping at our boutique or volunteering time or goods when giving back to the community, you will always be surrounded by hard working ,good hearted people that are here to make your day better than when we met you. We are excited to continue to build a brand that thrives off of positivity and being resilient.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
whewww! A good time with My Bestie/ Co- owner of Memoire.co would consist of lots of drinks and lots of fun and lotsss of pictures! As for restaurants, D’s Cajun eats in Sugarland for lunch , the food is spicy and GOOD.. The Rouxpour in Memorial city for dinner , the chargrilled oysters are sooo yummy . We are definitely doing some shopping at the Galleria. We will also visit prospect park . Its a must ,the oxtails fall off the bone and are sooo good. Lemon drops will be consumed frequently.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
To God we give all the glory and honor. Memoire.co has came a very long way in the trial and error process. We have ordered so many items in bulk that have been awful .. wrong material , wrong size , wrong product! I’m sure lots of if not all boutique owners have gone through this process. Be sure not to give up, continue your hard work it’ll pay off. Hard work and determination always does.
