We had the good fortune of connecting with Kalorin Suetrong and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kalorin, how do you think about risk?
Risk is the determining factor in how far I wanted to go in life. I’ve always looked at risk-taking as a way to elevate your personal growth, career, emotional intelligence, relationships with your self and others, and life to greater heights.
My career has always been rooted in the foundation of taking risks. I decided to leave home when I was 14 to pursue a career in the motherland with little to no knowledge of the challenges that lay ahead. My grandmother and mother have always instilled in me the courage to take risks but also to calculate the cost. Being raised by two very strong women, I was able to maneuver through many obstacles that brought me to where I am today.
Because of risk, I fulfilled my dreams of becoming a Thai pop star in the 2000s. Because of risk, I dared to become a mother. Because of risk, I walked away from a partnership that wasn’t right for me to start all over again and recreate who I wanted to become. Because of risk, I am a proud owner of a boutique marketing agency, SocialMar Club, and a private members’ club, INNER. Because of risk, I am me. Risk has taught me everything about courage, gentleness, integrity, and perseverance.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am the proud owner of SocialMar Club, a boutique marketing agency, and INNER, a private members’ club. What sets my businesses apart is our commitment to personalized, high-quality service and our focus on building meaningful relationships with our clients. At SocialMar Club, we specialize in crafting tailored marketing strategies that align with our clients’ unique needs and goals. We are results-driven, dedicated to achieving measurable success for our clients. We have had the privilege of working with renowned brands, some of which have been acquired, showcasing our ability to drive significant growth and value. INNER, on the other hand, is a space dedicated to fostering community and personal growth, providing our members with exclusive events, networking opportunities, and resources to elevate their personal and professional lives.
I am most proud of the impact we have made on our clients and members. Seeing their growth and success is incredibly rewarding. I am also excited about the innovative projects and collaborations we have planned for the future, which will further enhance our offerings and expand our reach.
The journey to where I am today has not been easy. It has been filled with challenges, including leaving home at 14 to pursue a career with little knowledge of the obstacles ahead. Starting over after walking away from an unsuitable partnership was another significant hurdle. However, these challenges have taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, adaptability, and the importance of staying true to one’s vision.
One of the key lessons I’ve learned is the importance of calculated risk-taking. Each risk I’ve taken, whether it was pursuing my dreams of becoming a Thai pop star, becoming a mother, or starting my businesses, has brought me closer to my goals and helped shape who I am today. I have also learned the power of a strong support system. My grandmother and mother, with their unwavering support and wisdom, have been instrumental in my journey.
Additionally, integrity in business has been a cornerstone of my success. Upholding high ethical standards has not only sustained my business but has also reinforced the trust and loyalty of our clients. This commitment to integrity ensures that SocialMar Club operates with transparency and honesty.
I want the world to know that my brand and story are rooted in courage, authenticity, and a deep commitment to helping others achieve their fullest potential. SocialMar Club and INNER are not just businesses; they are extensions of my belief in the power of community, growth, and the transformative impact of taking risks. Our mission is to empower individuals and businesses to reach new heights, and we are dedicated to making a positive difference in everything we do.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This is such a great question and is up my alley; I love being a host so a nice little itinerary is music to my ears! If my best friend were visiting Houston for a week, I’d make sure they had the most fun experience, filled with uncontrollable laughter, delicious food, vibrant culture, and beautiful sights. Here’s a glimpse into the mom of three in me itinerary:
Day 1: Getting To Know Houston
+ Morning: Start the day with a cozy brunch at Common Bond Cafe & Bakery, where the croissants and freshly baked goodies/coffee are to die for.
+ Afternoon: Head to Hermann Park for a leisurely stroll and a paddleboat ride on McGovern Lake. Nothing beats the serenity of nature right in the heart of the city.
+ Evening: Dinner at Brennan’s of Houston for some exquisite Creole cuisine, followed by cocktails at Z on 23 Rooftop Bar, where the view of the city skyline at sunset is simply magical.
Day 2: Cultural Immersion
+Morning: Visit the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH), where we can marvel at stunning exhibitions from local and international artists.
+Afternoon: A trip to the Historic Heights District to soak in the rich history and charming architecture. Lunch at Helen in the Heights, which serves delightful Mediterranean dishes.

+ Evening: Dinner at Uchi, a fusion restaurant that perfectly blends Japanese flavors with a modern twist — or Handies (*YUM*) Cap off the night with a dessert at The Chocolate Bar, where the chocolate creations are as beautiful as they are delicious.
Day 4: Outdoor Fun
+ Morning: Head out early for a hike at the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center. The trails and wildlife are absolutely breathtaking.
+ Afternoon: Cool off with a swim at Memorial Park’s pool. Pack a picnic and enjoy lunch by the water.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My grandmama and mom are the two biggest heroes in my life. They are the backbone of my success and the little voice that echoes in the chambers of my heart. In trying times, their words of wisdom come singing through the winds to guide me back on the path every single time I veer off.
Throughout my teenage years, I was not so pleasant with my mom and grandma. I was hot-headed and compulsive. I led with my reactive emotions, whereas now I let those take the back seat. I look back now and thank the heavens for giving me their two compassionate hearts, always ready to forgive, always ready to love, and always ready to push me to be the best person I can be for myself and the world. To that, I am forever indebted to them.
