We had the good fortune of connecting with Keon K.O.K and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Keon, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
It wasn’t much to think about honestly. I grew around entrepreneurship both legally and illegally, so my mindset was always to work for self; even if that meant having side hustles & work for hire to fund it. Efficient entrepreneurship was always the goal. See the vision , strategically map out the road to get there , understand that things will not go exactly as planned so make adjustments along the way , & put systems in place that help maintain and grow the business.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Getting to where I am today was not easy at all, but it was always in alignment. The biggest thing I want people to know about my art is that nothing beats authenticity. My music draws from real life experiences, situation, emotions and topics that transpired during various points of my life. No matter what field you’re in, the journey to where you are going comes with ups, down, unexpected turns & obstacles; but STAY THE COURSE. In a world where attention has become the most valued currency, Don’t get too caught up in the “numbers” and trying to “go viral”; instead aim to be IMPACTFUL.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Most of my people join my regimen when they hang with me so to start, our daily routine would include morning walks/ Morning Runs everyday , fresh fruit and water at noon, the gun range or the studio to follow. Outside of music I’m a bit of historian. Me & my peers would visit some of the most historically relevant places in the area , that are pivotal to why the city or culture is the way it is now. Including museum trips and site seeing. In Jersey City, my favorite restaurant to eat at are Subia’s Vegan Cafe, The Brick Pizza (Hoboken) & Açaí ya Later (Hoboken). If We’re in Houston, TX we would go to Mo Better Brews Vegan Cafe, The Wing Boss, & Cascabel (Vegan Mexican)

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First & foremost I want to highlight the divine. Through the creator, everything is possible. Everything I am , have been or will be is by the grace of the most high.

I want to shoutout my Business Partner & Father. He has been the center piece to who I’ve become , not only musically but as a man as well. No amount of money can equate to how much I appreciate the role he has played in helping me bring this into fruition.

Lastly I want to shoutout my mom, I often refer to her as my heart in human form. The sacrifices she’s made for me to be here, I could never repay. She’s the definition of a GREAT mother.
