We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristopher Garner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kristopher, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
It was just something I felt drawn to. I’ve always felt like I’ve had a creative side that I loved expressing. I feel like being able to express myself creatively can really be therapeutic and it’s how I best express who I am as a person. So why not be creative as a career? Do something I love and be able to do it for a living.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from other music producers at me level is that I’m not afraid to experiment and step outside the box with my sound. I’m always looking for new sounds to use and new ways I can try to catch artists attention with my beats without overdoing it. Since I very first started music to now, I’ve learned a lot. But I’d say the most important thing I’ve learned (thanks to my friends I’ve made along the way) is to not get in your head too much about your craft. Because that’s when you run into more obstacles creatively. As well as you start doubting yourself which can slow your progression as a creative. I feel like being persistent in my craft and staying focused got me to where I am in my career currently. It definitely took a lot of self reflection and change to get here.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I wouldn’t say I know too many places, since I just moved into the area last year during COVID when a lot of things weren’t available. But if I were to take them anywhere to eat I’d probably take them to Taqueria De Sol. It’s probably one of the best food places I’ve ate at here. Their food is always fresh and when I’m looking for a good steak quesadilla. nothing hits harder than theirs. And since my friends usually enjoy music as much as I do. I would take them to visit The Red Room Studio. The creative vibes there are almost unmatched and the environment is pretty welcoming as well. The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shout out SupaManley and The Red Room Studio for giving me an opportunity to showcase my skills as a music producer to find clientele in a area I wasn’t familiar with.
