We had the good fortune of connecting with Lezlie Soto and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lezlie, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think of risk as a thrill and a gamble combined. I say a thrill because I feel excitement for what the future has in store for me. A gamble because it feels like I am playing roulette.. You know the feeling you get when you bet on black but you do not know what you are going to get? Except, you are betting on yourself when you open a business.. As long as I am betting on myself & working hard I know I will be fine. The power of self belief can get anyone, anywhere in life. So as long as I keep believing in myself everyday and market the message behind my brand the risk I took 6 months ago will pay off. It is all a matter of time, faith, discipline & mental strength.
What should our readers know about your business?
Eterna is all about enhancing your natural beauty. Not only do I care about your exterior when I tattoo eyebrows, lip color. I care about inner beauty & ones well being so much. It is important we pour into ourselves daily. Without self love & self care you will not feel whole. So if you do make a change and you do not pour into your soul and feed yourself positivity and care, you will never be satisfied no matter what enhancements you make to your exterior. What I am most excited about is being able to deliver beautiful transformations and experiences to more lovely souls who book in the next year to come. I got where I am today by tapping into what truly makes me happy. I worked in corporate America for 9 years and I always felt a void in me. I did not feel like I was truly making an impact in the world. It was not an easy decision to make to leave my guaranteed salary & take this risk but I did it once I got laid off. I overcome challenges by staying strong and seeing the positive impact I have made on all my clients who have turned into amazing friends! Never give up and always show up for yourself no matter what. Eterna’s message is: we do not take anything once we transition. So live now, be present. Do anything and everything you want while we are here on this earth. As long as it is done with kindness, love, and greatness. Our bodies are borrowed however, our souls are eternal.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love dressing up and going out for drinks and delicious food.
If I had someone visiting from out of town I would definitely take them out to eat at cuchara, caracol, first watch. What I love about Houston is its diversity and you can literally go anywhere for any craving. From burgers at hopdoddy, to tacos and corn in a cup, pho, Korean bbq at Gyu Kaku, Houston has it all. I love the fine arts museum we have here as well.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The reason I am where I am at this very moment is definitely thanks to God and my support system of family, friends and spouse. Without them I would not be where I am today. My mentors play a big role on me not giving up because of their constant encouragement and support. They are both very wise and have helped me so much. They all speak so much life to me and this is why I do not give up!
