We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Scott and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amy, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
As a wife and a mother, my first priority will always be my family. I wanted to start a business that wouldn’t take me away from them, and would only add value to our lives. It is important for me to be able to attend all of their big moments, so I wanted to be able to work when they were at school or after their bedtime. BASH works around MY schedule, not the other way around. If that ever starts to shift, it will no longer be the right fit for me.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets BASH apart from other similar businesses, is the ability to fit the sign anywhere, in any space. Indoors, outdoors, snow, rain or blazing heat, BASH can withstand any of the elements. Another unique feature is the different designs of our signs. We have something for everyone, young or not-so-young! Starting a business in an already saturated market was not easy, but I believe in our product and how unique it is. Once the word got out, we quickly grew a loyal client base who love our signs as well!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There is so much to do in The Woodlands! Start the day with a hike or bike ride along the trails, take a swan boat for a spin on the waterway, and then hit up Tommy Bahamas in Market Street for a yummy lunch and some shopping afterwards of course! End the day with a concert at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and a fun dinner at Yucatán Taco Stand on the waterway.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family has always been my biggest support system and encouraged me to go for my dreams. They have been a sounding board for my ideas, my biggest fans, and most loyal supporters. I’m so blessed to have them in my corner.
