Meet Lil Lucci | Empire Recording Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lil Lucci and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lil, what’s the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?
The most difficult decision I ever had to make was picking myself over everyone else in order to be in a position to help everyone else. A wise person once told me self preservation isn’t easy but it’s necessary at times. Focusing on my music and being apart from family to not being able to maintain a stable love life are things I chose to sacrifice for my dreams.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Man, I’m thrilled to share my story. As an artist, I bring a unique blend of raw energy, authenticity, and vulnerability to my music. My art is an extension of myself, and I’m not afraid to be real and honest in my lyrics. What sets me apart is my ability to tap into the emotions and experiences of my generation, and to create music that resonates with them on a deep level.
I’m most proud of my latest single, “Black Sheep.” It’s a game-changer for me, and I’m excited to see how it’s connecting with my fans. The song’s message of self-empowerment and individuality is something that I believe in strongly, and I’m passionate about spreading that message through my music.
Getting to where I am today professionally hasn’t been easy. I’ve faced my fair share of challenges, from doubters and haters to self-doubt and uncertainty. But I’ve always believed in myself and my music, and I’ve worked hard to hone my craft and build a loyal following.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way is the importance of staying true to myself and my vision. It’s easy to get caught up in trying to fit into a certain mold or to please others, but at the end of the day, it’s my authenticity and uniqueness that set me apart.
I want the world to know that I’m not just an artist – I’m a movement. I’m a symbol of hope and inspiration for those who feel like they don’t fit in or who are struggling to find their voice. My music is more than just entertainment – it’s a call to action, a reminder that we all have the power to create positive change in our lives and in the world around us.
Through my brand and story, I want to inspire others to be bold, to take risks, and to never give up on their dreams. I want to show the world that with hard work, determination, and a willingness to be vulnerable, anything is possible. So, if you’re feeling like you don’t fit in or that you’re not good enough, I want you to know that you’re not alone. You’re part of a larger movement, and together, we can achieve greatness.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting Scranton, PA, where I’m from, I’d plan an epic week-long itinerary to show them the best time ever. Here’s what I’d do:
*Day 1: Arrival and Exploration*
– Pick them up from the airport and grab some lunch at the famous *Luby’s* diner in downtown Scranton.
– Take a stroll through the *Steamtown National Historic Site* to check out the vintage trains and learn about the city’s railroad history.
– End the day with some drinks and live music at *The Backyard Ale House*.
*Day 2: Outdoor Adventures*
– Take a hike at *Ricketts Glen State Park*, which offers breathtaking views and scenic trails.
– Rent kayaks or paddleboards at *Lake Lackawanna* and enjoy some time on the water.
– Grub at *The Backyard Ale House* again (best burgers in town, trust me!).
*Day 3: Scranton’s Hidden Gems*
– Visit the *Houdini Museum*, dedicated to the life and legacy of Harry Houdini.
– Explore the *Everhart Museum*, which features exhibits on local history, science, and art.
– Grab dinner at *Corky’s* for some delicious American cuisine.
*Day 4: Music and Nightlife*
– Catch a live show at *The Majestic Lounge*, a legendary music venue in Scranton.
– Hang out at *The Vault*, a trendy bar with a speakeasy vibe.
– End the night with some late-night eats at *Pete’s Diner*.
*Day 5: Day Trip to NYC*
– Take a day trip to New York City (about 2.5 hours away) and explore the *Metropolitan Museum of Art* or *Times Square*.
– Grab lunch at *Katz’s Delicatessen* or *Carbone*.
– Catch a Broadway show or live music performance.
*Day 6: Local Flavor*
– Visit the *Scranton Farmers Market* and sample some local produce and artisanal goods.
– Take a tour of *Fidelman’s Brewpub* and enjoy some craft beer.
– Dinner at *Bar Pazzo*, which serves up tasty Italian cuisine.
*Day 7: Sports and Farewell*
– Catch a *Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders* minor league baseball game.
– Spend the afternoon shopping and browsing local boutiques in the *La Plume* neighborhood.
– Farewell dinner at *The Stillhouse*, with live music and great food.
This itinerary showcases the best of Scranton’s food, drink, music, and outdoor activities, with a day trip to NYC for some extra excitement. My friend would get a taste of the city’s history, culture, and natural beauty, and we’d have an unforgettable time together!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this whole section to my elder brother Sadi Yogii Johnson. He sadly passed away one faithful June and it took a toll on me, but without him I wouldn’t be here. From the beginning he believed in my dreams and pushed me to the fullest extent. Every accolade from my first billboard to my first million views is worth every moment we spent together working on my craft. What started as a simple dream and vision turned into a career an life changing opportunity and although he is no longer here for me to say thank you, I strive for greatness everyday as way of saying thank you. Shoutout Charlie gz , Shout-out Drose, Shout-out Mama , Shout-out my production team.
