We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Denae and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, how does your business help the community?
Stunner Radio was created to be the heart and soul of black culture. Black culture has always had a huge impact on the world, but the world has also seen black life and black people through the lenses of people who are not black. Non-Black owned media outlets have often spoken for black people. Stunner Radio is here to allow black and brown people to speak to the world for themselves. The impact of US telling our own stories is insurmountable. Once we use our voices and be heard on an international level directly from regular people who are living everyday lives, the positive impact with be too much to overcome. Black Americans have long suffered for freedom, and we will use our freedom to make a positive impact at Stunner Radio.

What should our readers know about your business?
Stunner Radio is a online Urban Talk Radio Station that caters to the black and brown communities and all those who value diversity. I am most proud of our on-air personalities for being bold, courageous, and authentic enough to tell their stories, and present their original content to the world responsibly and honestly to represent our communities. Stunner Radio has expanded in the last quarter because we took advantage of the pandemic blues and created content to entertain and inform our audience while we were all looking for more entertainment and information. If there was any thing I would want the world to know about me or about Stunner Radio, it would be that I don’t take my time on this earth lightly. I know that my life experiences and the experiences of others matter are meant to be shared with the world. At Stunner Radio we are all about being heard and making sure that eveyrone who wants to be heard has that opportunity.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend visiting from out of town, I would first take them to Melanin Nail Bar to get a fresh mani/pedi and experience the luxurious setting and outstanding customer service. We would then head over to Urban Eats to get some of the best food I’ve ever tasted in Houston, After that, of course, I would interview them on Stunner Radio, because I want to know more about their experiences. To end our night we would head over to Kiante’s Lounge for some good ole’ southern cooking, great music and atomosphere and Kiante’s signature Rum Punch.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to Joel Patterson, Sr., my Father. He is a life-long entrepreneur, former Mayor and City Manager of Benton Harbor, Michigan, and current owner of Crystal Star Square Event Center. Without the upbringing I experienced working with and for my father, I would not be the woman I am today.
