We had the good fortune of connecting with Logan Lopez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Logan, why did you pursue a creative career?

From a very young age, my passion for art was very obvious. I remember being in 4th grade and our school had a drawing contest. And out of hundreds of students, I won! My school sent me to this big, fancy dinner where I got an award and also got to meet the artist of the animated movie Over The Hedge. Even as I got into high school, art was always the class that I looked forward to the most. As I moved into adulthood, I had a few different jobs.  Although I was never truly happy, I valued them all because I was able to take the pros and cons of each job. I discovered that I loved meeting and connecting with new people. I also discovered that how and where I spent my time was important, the energy in my daily environment made a big impact on me and how I felt throughout the day.
I knew, almost instantly, that sitting at a desk each day was not the route I wanted to take. I wanted to do something that allowed me to meet new people and help others, while being in an environment that made me happy, and also I wanted to do something that I enjoyed and was passionate about. And honestly, that dynamic was very hard to find in the traditional workplace.

Then one day, when I was 20, I discovered Microblading. A semi-permanent eyebrow tattoo. I had my eyebrows microbladed, and I was instantly obsessed! I remember going home that night and admiring my eyebrow artist. She had her own business, which had a great, positive energy right when you walked into her space. She made new connections with people each day, and she was able to utilize her artistic skills, and those skills made a huge impact on every person who walked into her business. I thought about her for weeks after. Then one day, I was sitting at my job that I disliked, counting the minutes until 5pm. In that moment or misery, I knew I had to make a change. I knew that even if this route didn’t work out for me, that I was going to give it a shot, because trying and failing is better than never trying at all. So the next day, I came into work, handed my boss my two weeks notice. And the next week, I was signing up for my very first Permanent Cosmetics Training class. And that was single handedly, the best decision of my life, and I haven’t looked back since.

.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

I started my business, Perfect 10 Beauty Bar, over 5 years ago out of a small 100 square foot room. With no financial help from anyone, and no knowledge on how to start or run a business, except from google.

I fell in love with permanent cosmetics and I knew instantly that I had found my calling. I had a goal of eventually making this beauty business my main source of income & to make a long lasting career out of it. For years, I kept my head down and stayed consistent. I continuously invested in my business and in my skills. Although it was tempting, I never took money from the business for personal pleasures, only to invest in myself and my business. I’ve spent tens of thousands of dollars on training and business classes to ensure that I was knowledgeable in my art, and to strive to be one of the best artists in the industry. After years of trial and error, years of sleepless nights, and living off caffeine, I am now the proud owner of a beautiful 1400 square foot studio with a wonderful team of strong, hard working, women who have supported my vision.

This industry has been drastically life changing for me, not only financially, but also mentally. Over the last couple of years, my passion in the permanent cosmetic industry has shifted to education. Educating others on how to start their own beauty businesses, work for themselves, do work that is fulfilling and that they are passionate about. After years of continuously evolving my training classes, I am so proud to say that I have so many students leaving my training classes, and absolutely killing it! They have been able to leave unsatisfying jobs, provide beautiful lives for their families, take control of their lives, and become strong, powerful, boss babes! To know that there are others out there that are currently in a very similar situation that I once was, and that I am able to help them, just by sharing my knowledge. That is a feeling, unlike any other!

This year I have big plans to expand Perfect 10 Beauty Bar even further! I will be adding on a state of the art Permanent Makeup & Beauty Training Facility! An open space concept, that will provide my students and other artists a space to work, practice their skills, build their clientele, meet other aspiring artists, and build a community of like minded boss babes that are ready to take control of their lives in this rapidly growing industry.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My friends and family have always been my biggest cheerleaders. They have been nothing but supportive since day one. Even when they knew nothing about microblading & permanent cosmetics, and probably thought I was crazy for pursuing something unknown, they were still always the first ones to share my business or to lend a helping hand. I appreciate them more than they will ever know.
