We had the good fortune of connecting with Lucky Bell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lucky, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Embarking on an artistic or creative career was not merely a choice for me; it was a calling. From a young age, I found myself deeply enthralled by the world of colors, shapes, and the boundless possibilities of expression they offered. This intrinsic pull towards creativity was not something I could easily ignore or set aside. It was a part of who I was, persistently nudging me to venture into the realms of imagination and innovation. I can remember sitting for hours in front of a computer as a child using my imagination to create multitudes of art.
Pursuing an artistic career also stemmed from my profound belief in the power of art to influence and inspire. Art has this unique capability to connect people, bridge cultural divides, and spark important conversations. It serves as a mirror to society, reflecting its beauty and complexities, its struggles, and triumphs. By choosing this path, I sought to contribute to this ongoing dialogue, hoping to evoke emotions, provoke thought, and perhaps even instigate change through my work. It was about harnessing my creative abilities to make an impact, to leave a mark that was both deeply personal yet universally resonant.
Moreover, the journey towards an artistic career was driven by the desire for personal growth and fulfillment. Creativity challenges you; it pushes you to constantly explore new ideas, learn new skills, and step out of your comfort zone. It’s about finding joy in the process of creation, in the act of bringing something new into existence. Bringing my thoughts and ideas into visual form.
However, during my college years, the field of design was not highly regarded, which led me to transition into the medical field and then into the Insurance Industry. Eventually, later in life, my passion for art reignited, and I returned to being an artist, inspired by my husband Hip-Hop Artist Bellion Boss; he selected me to create the album cover design for his first project “Bless Me In”, and I have been designing for him ever since. He has pushed me to new creative heights and definitely pushes me to be the best at what I do. During this journey with Bellion Boss, it was not just a milestone in my career but a gateway to an array of collaborations with influential artists and producers, such as Big Pokey and Lil KeKe, and weaving creativity with producers like FredOnEm and GrimRa, It has been a testament to the versatility and adaptability that I bring to the table as a designer. These collaborations have allowed me to delve into the nuances of musical aesthetics, translating the vibrant personalities and sounds of these artists into visual representations that resonate with their audience.
My passion goes beyond the music industry; I am deeply committed to supporting women in business by enhancing their brand’s visual identity. From crafting logos that speak volumes about their brand ethos to designing YouTube banners that capture the essence of their content, I take pride in being apart of their journey to success wherever they are in their life’s journey. My work with YouTuber Carmen Pritchett for her new solo channel, All About Carmen, stands as a highlight in this endeavor. Creating designs that reflect Carmen’s personality and the essence of her content was an enriching experience that further fueled my passion for supporting content creators in making their mark on digital platforms. Other women owned brands/business that I have helped are Hair and Lashes by Monica Deleon and Jaded Nails by Journie Bell.
In the end, pursuing an artistic or creative career was a commitment to living a life that felt authentic and true to my passions. It was, and continues to be, an adventure—one that is fraught with challenges, but equally filled with moments of inexplicable beauty and profound satisfaction. Each project is a new adventure, a story waiting to be told through design. My goal is not just to create visuals but to weave a narrative that enhances the brand’s connection with its audience. Whether it’s in the music industry or helping women entrepreneurs and content creators shine, my journey is about creating impactful designs that leave a lasting impression.

My art is a distinctive blend of traditional techniques and digital innovation, a fusion that sets my work apart in the bustling world of art. At its core, my art seeks to explore the intricate dance between light and shadow, the tangible and the ethereal, drawing inspiration from the natural world as well as the depths of human emotion. What excites me most is the process of creation itself—the way seemingly disparate elements can come together to tell a new story, evoke a forgotten memory, or inspire a sense of wonder.
The journey to where I stand today in my professional artistic career was far from easy. It was paved with countless hours of practice, experimentation, and, perhaps most importantly, a relentless pursuit of a unique voice in a crowded space. There were moments of doubt, of course, where the path forward seemed anything but clear, spending hours staring at a blank artboard dreaming up the designs. However, overcoming these challenges was a matter of persistence, of learning to trust in my own vision even when it diverged from the mainstream and not to second guess myself. Along the way, I’ve learned the importance of resilience, the value of constructive criticism, patience and the undeniable power of passion to drive one forward, even in the face of adversity.
What I want the world to know about my brand and my story is that it’s rooted in authenticity and a deep-seated belief in the transformative power of art. My journey underscores the idea that true artistic expression is not just about mastering technique or following trends, but about forging a deep connection with oneself and, by extension, with others. Through my art, I aim to invite viewers into a world of beauty and contemplation, to offer a moment of respite in an often chaotic world. My story is a testament to the idea that with dedication and a clear vision, it is possible to carve out a space for oneself, to contribute something meaningful and lasting to the tapestry of human creativity.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
For a week-long adventure in Houston that promises an unforgettable experience, you would start by immersing yourselves in the diverse culinary scene, exploring the rich cultural heritage, and reveling in the city’s vibrant nightlife.
Depending on what type of mood she is in, we would begin with brunch at one of my favorite Coffee spots Wild for some of the best croissants and coffee you’ve ever tasted. We would then head to some of the attractions Houston has to offer or perhaps a drive down to Galveston to visit Pleasure Pier. Followed by Dinner at Dona Leti’s for good food and cocktails that are second to none.
Day 2 for something fun and on the edge I would take her to ride Four Wheelers in Crosby. After a tiring and fun filled day, we would freshen up and go to dinner at Taste of Texas for a mouth watering steak.
Throughout the week, dedicate a day to exploring the Houston Heights neighborhood, with its quirky shops, street art, and cozy cafés . Evenings could be spent at the Miller Outdoor Theatre for free performances under the stars or catching a game at Minute Maid Park to see the Astros in action or the Toyota Center to catch the Rockets, depending on the season. Not letting her miss the chance to explore Houston’s vibrant night scene.
As the week draws to a close, a leisurely day could be spent at Hermann Park, riding the pedal boats and visiting the Houston Zoo. Or doing some shopping at the Galleria. Wrapping up the adventure with a farewell dinner making your friend’s visit to Houston an experience filled with cherished memories of fun, food, and friendship.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my Husband and Daughter for alway pushing me to be the best that I can be.
