We had the good fortune of connecting with Martika Mitchell-Holmes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Martika, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
1. Following My Passion and Purpose
Massage therapy has always been more than a job to me—it’s a calling. I love helping people feel better in their bodies and more connected to their well-being. I realized that working for others limited how deeply I could serve my clients, so I decided to create a space where healing could happen on my terms, with my full energy behind it.

2. Seeing a Need in My Community
In League City, I noticed there was a real need for both convenience and quality. People are busy and stressed—they don’t always have time to drive across town for self-care. That’s why I offer in-office and in-home sessions: to meet people where they are, literally and emotionally. That flexibility sets my business apart.

3. Wanting More Freedom and Authenticity
I wanted to build something that fully reflects who I am—my values, my style, and how I approach care. When clients walk into my space (or welcome me into theirs), I want them to feel like they’re getting a truly personal, grounded experience, not a one-size-fits-all service.

4. Building Toward a Bigger Vision
This isn’t just about massage—this is the foundation for something greater. I want to grow into wellness education, build a trusted brand, and eventually create a space or team that serves even more people with the same heart and hands-on care.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Whew! What a journey it’s been!
I started my massage therapy career back in 2012, working in various chains and franchises. That’s where I gained the hands-on experience, client knowledge, and confidence that brought me to where I am today.

Navigating this path while being a full-time mom to four beautiful girls hasn’t been easy. It took hard work, late nights, and serious dedication—but I knew that building something of my own was worth it.

Starting my own business wasn’t just about flexibility or income—it was about creating a space for healing, connection, and real care.

And I’m not stopping here. I plan to pursue my nursing degree so I can elevate the level of care I provide even further.
Continuing my education is a core part of my mission and my brand. I believe there’s always room to grow—both personally and professionally—and I want my clients to benefit from that growth every step of the way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would start by having lunch at don letis! Best food so good!! Followed by an Astros game, its always a vibe at the games. Finish the day off at Little woodrows with a few beers and hangout!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a huge shoutout to Jessica Wright, my friend and fellow massage therapist. She’s been such a big part of my journey—mentoring me, inspiring me, and showing me the ropes in this industry. I truly wouldn’t be where I am without her guidance and encouragement.

I also want to express my deepest thanks to Dr. Wilson at Delta Chiropractic and Wellness. Your support, belief in me, and encouragement have meant the world during this journey of starting my own business.

It takes a village, and I’m so grateful for the people in mine. Here’s to growth, healing, and continuing to build something meaningful together!
