We had the good fortune of connecting with Maura Montalvo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maura, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was rooted in the desire for freedom, flexibility, and a fulfilling career that aligns with my core values. I wanted to create something meaningful that allowed me to help others while being present for my family. I also craved a life where I could set my own boundaries, work passionately toward personal and professional growth, and build a community focused on empowerment and success. My business reflects my belief that entrepreneurship should lead to a well-balanced, purpose-driven life.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business, True Glow Coaching, is all about helping entrepreneurs not just grow their businesses, but create their own markets, setting themselves apart in unique ways. The GLOW Method teaches clients to build community over competition, focusing on growth, opportunity, and well-being.

Transitioning from the legal field to entrepreneurship was challenging, filled with self-doubt, financial risks, and moments of burnout. But with a consistent mindset and a focus on aligned growth, I found success. I teach my clients how to Find Their Shine and build businesses that resonate with their personal values and purpose for long-lasting success.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting, I’d take them straight to BB’s Meat MArket and Restaurant.. If it’s Sunday, we’d hit up Tacos Hermanos or Buey y Vaca on Airline for some of the best tacos in town. We’d also head to Huffman Diner in Huffman, TX, for delicious country cooking. We’d geek out at the Museum of Natural Science my favorite spots in Houston for a fun, educational adventure!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to dedicate this shoutout to God. His guidance has been pivotal in my journey, always placing me in the right rooms and situations. Entrepreneurship has brought me closer to Him, showing me just how much faith plays a role in success. It’s been a beautiful experience, filled with divine alignment, and I’m incredibly grateful for the ways He continues to support and uplift me.
