We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Berry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Megan, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The Most important lesson my business has taught me was never give up. I keep God first in everything i do for my business and remain humble. It also taught me patience, nothing happens over night. success takes time and patience. What i like about my business is have clients that go and come and some stay but i don’t let that discourage me. Even on slow/bad weeks i look at the positive side of the business.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am cosmetologist located in Houston, Texas. I started off working and TGF Haircutters and fantastic sams hair salon. I got to where im at in my business by the grace of God and the support of my parents. This journey is not the easiest but what keeps me going is my loyal clients and staying positive. The most valuable lesson i learned was to stay strong no matter how rough the going gets. What i want the world to know about my brand is i care about my client/customers hair needs. I love to do hair and my main concern for my clients is the integrity of they hair.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I will use my best friend Ashely as an example she moved here from California. My favorite restaurant i told her about was Mias table, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is great. A nice bar to go have drinks is Ambriza in the vintage park area especially for the prices. Recently my boyfriend took me to an arcade downtown called cidercade. They have the best arcade games for a good price. I would tell anybody to check out truck yard for a nice time out. They have great food trucks and good beer trucks too.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I like to recognize my parents and my mentor Inez Willis for all the love and support they given me. When i get discouraged i know they are one phone call away to help keep me motivated
