We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Carruba and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michael, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve had a passion for playing the piano since the age of 10 and was fortunate enough to be a part of two musical groups during my high school years. Music has always been a central part of my life, and as a member of the rock band Vertical 360, I was awestruck by the magic of the recording studio during a visit to one in Houston. After serving in the Army from 2002 to 2010, I decided to pursue my dream of opening a recording studio and named it in honor of my former band, 360 Recording Studio.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
At 360 Recording Studio, we prioritize creating a relaxed and comfortable environment for artists. Our focus is on producing exceptional quality recordings, rather than churning out a large volume. Our team members bring a diverse range of skills to the studio, including myself as a System Administrator, who manages our computer systems.
The most challenging aspect of running a recording studio is attracting artists, as it can be perceived as a luxury. However, we are passionate about our work and do not see it as simply a means of making a living. We are honored and thrilled to have the opportunity to record, mix, and master Morris Day’s latest album, “Last Call.”
We want the world to know that 360 Recording Studio is a top-notch facility for artists to create their music. We understand the importance of budget constraints and are committed to working with our clients to bring their musical vision to life.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
During their visit to the US, my Canadian friends expressed their desire to visit NASA. I eagerly arranged a tour for them. After a fulfilling day at NASA, we headed to the Galleria for dinner and dined at the Cheesecake Factory, which they thoroughly enjoyed. The following day, I took them to the Houston Museum of Natural Science where we indulged in a delightful meal. In the evening, they were eager to experience the nightlife, so I took them to Westheimer to show them the sights and sounds of the city.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A big shoutout to Jesse Medina for co-founding 360 Recording Studio with me. Also, a big thank you to Jessica Garcia for her exceptional work in promoting 360 Recording Studio and delivering top-notch video production. Lastly, a shoutout to JD for his unwavering support in promoting the studio and crafting amazing beats.
