Meet Nancy Acosta | Balloon Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nancy Acosta and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nancy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When we decided to start our balloon art business, we knew we weren’t just pursuing a career- We were building a platform for creativity and joy. We always loved creating unforgettable moments for people, and balloons became our medium to do that. They’re universal symbols of celebration, and we saw an opportunity to use them to bring people together.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What makes our business unique is the combination of artistry, precision and personal connection. With the background in education and marketing, we approach balloon design with a keen eye for detail and innovation. Every installation is a carefully crafted piece of art, tailored to the customer’s vision. Beyond the technical skills, what truly sets us apart is our commitment to creating a personal and unforgettable experience for each client. We don’t just decorate, we create memories, turning our customers’ dreams into reality with creativity and care.
What we are most proud of is the impact we’ve made on people’s lives. Seeing the joy on a child’s face at a birthday party or tears of happiness from a couple at their wedding is an indescribable feeling. It’s not just about the decorations – it’s about creating moments that people will remember for a lifetime. We are also proud of how our business has become a platform for positivity, whether it’s supporting charity events or inspiring others to follow their passion.
Getting to where we are today professionally has been anything but easy.
Our journey started in education, where we honed our skills in problem solving. Transitioning into an artistic field was a leap into the unknown, and we faced challenges on all fronts– financial, emotional, and personal. There were times when we doubted ourselves and wondered if we could make this dream a reality. But every obstacle has taught us resilience. We learned to navigate the business world, build relationships, and embrace the creativity within us.
Lessons learned along the way are, 1- adaptability is key, no matter how well you plan, things possible will go wrong. Flexibility and problem solving are essential to keep moving forward.
2- Never stop learning, weather it’s improving our balloon techniques, mastering online marketing, or refining customer service, continuous growth is critical .
3- Connection matters, building a successful business is as much about relationships as it is about products. Treating clients and collaborators with respect and care has opened doors we never imagined.
4- Believe in ourselves, there will always be doubters, but trusting in your vision is what keeps you moving forward.
We want people to know that our brand is about more than just balloons- it’s about creating joy, connection, and memories. It’s a story of perseverance, creativity, and a deep passion for making like’s milestones special. Through our designs, we aim to inspire people to celebrate life and its beauty.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First place that I would take her/him would be to visit the Space Center/NASA. I’m an outdoor person so definitely will explore Hermann Park, that offers an urban park with walking trails, pedal boats and the serene Japanese Garden, and visiting the Houston Zoo, for a nightlife experience we can visit midtown area, known for its lively bars and clubs. Check out the amazing beer gardens that are around Houston like Karbach. And of course we don’t need to forget about the shopping, visiting The Galleria, one of the largest shopping centers, featuring high-end retailers and an indoor ice-skating rink.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of my husband (Carlos Acosta) and my sister (Adriana Buenrostro).Their hard work, time, and effort have been instrumental in our journey to success. From brainstorming ideas to helping with event setups, they’ve stood by me every step of the way, and I’m incredibly grateful for their dedication and belief in our vision.
