Meet Nuari Le Blanc | Multidisciplinary artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nuari Le Blanc and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nuari, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
I am a multidisciplinary artist that creates jewelry, artwork, accessories, and more. I know my impact on my children is very positive because I’m able to show them it’s ok to be able to express an idea and make steps to bring it to life. I’m able to allow them to feel safe thinking in big ways when it comes to creative expression. Paving the ways for them to want to explore their own creative abilities and having the confidence to think outside of the box.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The thing I contribute most to my business success right now is attending the sure program at university of houston. I graduated in 2018 in my business was recognized by the city. That program taught us the basics of business. It was very difficult because we face discrimination by some of the teachers. My sister Nife and I were the youngest students in the class at the time, and it was difficult for people to take us seriously. In that moment I learned that success has no age. It only has a goal and an unwavering Force that carries you there. You have to listen to it in order for you to make it to your goals. With honesty and integrity, our businesses have been thriving since before 2016. The work that we do helps many people and we’ll continue to grow in cultivating community, as well as finding things that connect us all. That might be things around the world, imported from far places, or jewelry that fits every kind of person made from the elements of the world.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The best place in Houston would definitely be under the trees at Baldwin park. Getting a ice coffee at doshi house. Also eating pizza on the hammocks at axelrad.
These places remind me of my childhood. Growing up in houston I went to Baldwin park and climbed the low hanging trees. After hurricane Ike in 2008, the trees were low to the ground so they were easy to climb. They just kept growing and still are standing tall. Doshi house has been around as long as I can remember. There a really nice coffee shop in the middle of third ward. Down the street from emancipation park and the rado market, an amazing cafe in the Eldorado Ballroom. They are an amazing vegan food coffee shop with only being an option and a growing community. Lastly axelrad is in the same area. I’ve been going there ever since I was in high school, where I attended Houston academy for international studies.
These places are close to my heart because they represent different eras of my life. They are also very delicious food places, and wonderful sites to see.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have many things to give thanks to, that includes the people who are special to me specifically my mother Felicia Johnson, my fiance Prana Riley, my children Aje and Musa LeBlanc Riley, and Kambui and Nife LeBlanc my brother and sister. My mother, sister and I own the juju shop and kiss the jewel. Our brands based in Houston TX. If it wasn’t for my mother teaching me how to make jewelry, allowing me a safe space to create, and the freedom to explore my creative expressions. I would not be the professional artist I am today. If it wasn’t for the business partnership with my sister, I would not have the business savvy and team to be able to sell my work. If it wasn’t for my brother convincing me that my Ideas are good, and giving me constructive feedback. Then I wouldn’t have the confidence to create. Lastly if it wasn’t for my beautiful family, then I wouldn’t have the motivation, and the fire under me to keep going and strive better for them. I dedicate a lot of my progress to these wonderful individuals.
