We had the good fortune of connecting with Quinn Kelly and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Quinn, how does your business help the community?
The Renew You Podcast, Renew Faith Conferences and my writing at Sanctification and Spitup all have one collective goal: to encourage people in their faith and relationships. Because let’s face it, the world can wear us out and get us focused on things that drain us. So sometimes we need reminders that there is a better way to do life. And I believe that happens when we focus on things that make us strong mentally like our faith and the love that we can show others in our lives because of it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I stay busy because my mind is always desiring to create opportunities where others can be encouraged in their life and faith.

I remember two years ago, I felt the area I live in could use a local faith conference where people could gather with other women and hear inspiring speakers. And then God laid out the steps that allowed my team and I to organize not just one but three conferences

As a result of that, the Renew You Podcast was birthed. And that podcast is a place where I can interview people I believe truly inspire others to live a fresh and renewed life.

Doing ministry/business can always be challenging! But my secret trick is doing it with other amazing people. I have had the unique blessing of being surrounded by gifted and talented people who are willing to work together to accomplish a common goal. If I didn’t have friends helping me, I wouldn’t be able to do what I do. So my best advice is to create true and meaningful relationships with like-minded people. Those people allow your business to be successful no matter what happens because you are surrounded by authentic people who won’t stop moving forward because they believe in your mission too.

When you take risks, you will win some and lose some. But I feel like you can’t ever lose if you have genuine relationships surrounding you. For the Renew brand specifically, I want women (and men) to know that you are not alone. There are people like me and my team that are here to offer support and encouragement in your life through our podcast and yearly conferences. If you’re tired and worn out, come renew your mind with us!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love Houston. My absolute favorite restaurant is Tiny Boxwoods in River Oaks. It is so serene and picturesque. You must get a cappuccino if you go. My favorite place to take a walk is Buffalo Bayou. I love to go and walk and people watch. My favorite place to have a picnic is Hermann Park and let the kids ride the train and roll down the hill.

And to go off the beaten path, you must come to my neck of the woods and try the Yellow Chicken Curry at Nara Thai in Atascocita, TX. You will crave that dish the rest of your life.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
