We had the good fortune of connecting with Renecheia Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Renecheia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’m actually born and raised in Houston and we had several greek stores and over the years they decreased to almost none. When my daughter decided to become a Delta, I couldn’t find any store in Houston to buy her stuff. That’s the second time a light bulb went off about opening a greek store,  because believe it or not I said in high school I wanted to open a Greek Store one day. So at the time I couldn’t find anything for my daughter, my linesister was already designing and making shirts for our line so I said let’s open a Greeks Store. She does all the designs and I handle the day to day operations and that’s how Linesisters Greeks and More was created.

What should our readers know about your business?

LineSisters Greeks and More is a clothing boutique in the heart of 3rd Ward Houston, Texas that specializes in African American Greek paraphernalia, Black Empowerment, and Historically Black Colleges and Universities merchandise. What sets us a part is our unique designs, our Signature brand, and the culture we set while visiting our store! I’m most excited about our signature brand and seeing people have our shirts on in person & all over social media, also people bragging about how they love the store!

We got where we are today by hard work, dedication, loyalty, consistency, and our AMAZING customers! The journey has not been easy but definitely worth it because, I love providing a service and products to our community that is truly hard to find but most needed. Some lessons learned along the way is you can’t please everyone so stay true to yourself and your vision. We want the world to know that Linesisters Greeks and More is a brand and we are continuing to work hard to service our customers. We want to make sure the world is embracing the D9 Greeks, HBCUs, and black culture because we are here to stay and love giving back to our community!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When visiting Houston, the first place I would take someone is to Linesisters Greeks and More because we don’t just have greek paraphernalia! If they are visiting for a week they would have to check out The Breakfast Klub, Fleur-de-lisious (Mo-City), Cool Running Jamaican Grill, Taste Bar + Kitchen, Sparkles Hamburgers, Bar 5015, D Bar Lounge, Grooves of Houston, Lost & Found, Prospect Park, 5th Ward landmarks, The Nickel Sandwich Grill,    J & J Lounge, 3rd Ward landmarks, Buffalo Solider Museum, Kids Kreole Kooking, Lucille’s Bar & Grill, A&K Cake Shop, Triple J’s Smokehouse, Stuff’d Wings Food Truck, Esther’s Cajun Cafe & Soul Food, A Kneaded Touch (massage), and Better Days Chiropractic (adjustment).

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First giving praise to God for being the head of my life and making all my dreams a reality! Shout-out to my linesister Lunita Anderson for being on this journey with me, my mom Peggy Robinson for creating a lot of the custom items in the store, and my daughter Meashell Crosby for holding the store and the business down by making sure everything is running smoothly. Most importantly Linesisters Greeks and More wouldn’t be NOTHING without our AMAZING customers, my linesisters (the 79), the D9, HBCUs, Gramfam, the black community, and my sorors of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
