Meet Robert Rush | Owner of Euphoria Flowers

We had the good fortune of connecting with Robert Rush and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Robert, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own floral design business has been an incredibly rewarding journey, and my thought process behind it was shaped by a combination of ambition, experiences, and a desire to make a meaningful impact. For years, I worked at various flower shops, gaining valuable insight into the industry. I saw firsthand what worked well, but also where businesses could improve. Those experiences taught me the importance of creating an environment where people are not only motivated but feel valued and supported.
I knew that if I were to build something of my own, I wanted it to be a place where both employees and I could thrive and excel. I wanted to be my own boss, create a healthy and positive work culture, and establish a legacy that I could one day leave behind. I also wanted to create a financially stable and fulfilling life—not just for myself and my family but for my team as well.
Starting my flower company has truly been a blessing. Watching it grow from the ground up and seeing how far we’ve come still surprises me every day. The journey has been full of challenges, but seeing the progress and success that we’ve achieved together fills me with pride. I am so grateful for the incredible team I have, and it’s exciting to know that the foundation we’re building today will continue to flourish for years to come.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is an expression of my love for nature, beauty, and the transformative power that flowers have in people’s lives. What sets me apart from others in the floral design world is my deep-rooted connection to plants and nature, something that was passed down to me from my grandmother. I believe flowers have a unique way of conveying emotions, telling stories, and adding a special touch to any occasion. Whether it’s an intimate wedding, a corporate event, or a grand celebration, I focus on creating designs that are both meaningful and visually striking.
One of the things I’m most proud of is the environment we’ve built at Euphoria Flowers. It’s not just about the designs; it’s about fostering a space where creativity and hard work thrive. I’m excited to be part of a team that is so passionate about what we do, and I’m proud to offer an experience where clients feel valued and inspired. Watching my business grow from the ground up has been an incredible journey, and I truly feel blessed to be doing something I love.
The road to where I am today was definitely not easy. I worked at several flower shops before launching my own business, learning the ins and outs of the industry. Each place taught me something valuable, both in what to do and what to avoid. There were moments of doubt, especially in the early days, when I wasn’t sure if I could make it work. But through perseverance, hard work, and the support of people I love, I was able to overcome the challenges. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of believing in myself, even when the path ahead seems unclear.
Another lesson has been the significance of building the right team. It’s not just about the flowers; it’s about the people who help make the magic happen. My team has been instrumental in the growth of Euphoria Flowers, and I know that without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. As much as I’ve learned about flowers and design, I’ve also learned how to lead, motivate, and foster a sense of community within the company.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that we are more than just a floral design business. Euphoria Flowers is a reflection of my passion for creativity, my love for nature, and my commitment to creating something beautiful for every client we work with. It’s a place where artistry meets heart, where every design tells a story, and every client is treated with care and respect. I hope to inspire others to follow their passions and to remind them that while the road to success can be difficult, the rewards are worth the effort. My journey is a testament to the power of persistence, community, and the belief that we can create something beautiful, not only in our work but in the lives of those around us.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting the Greater Houston area, I’d want to give them the absolute best time, packed with delicious food, fun activities, and unique sights that showcase the best of the city! As a foodie, the first thing I’d do is take them to as many amazing restaurants as I can think of. Houston is such a gem when it comes to dining options, and I’d definitely want to hit up some of my current favorites. We’d start the day with breakfast at Dona Leti’s, a fantastic spot for delicious Mexican breakfast dishes. For lunch, I’d take them to Mala Sichuan Bistro for some authentic and flavorful Sichuan cuisine, and for a coffee break, we’d grab a cup at Dutch Bros Coffee or Scooter’s Coffee—both are fantastic places for a quick caffeine fix.
For dinner, I’d highly recommend The Pit Room for mouthwatering BBQ, and then we’d check out Grand Lux Cafe for a more upscale dining experience. For something a little more casual and soulful, I’d take them to Esther’s Cajun Café & Soul Food for some hearty, flavorful Southern dishes. Later, we could go for a fun and interactive dining experience at Boiling 88, where we’d enjoy seafood boils with all the fixings, and I can’t forget Wanna Bao for their delicious bao buns!
After eating our way through Houston, I’d want to take my friend to explore the natural beauty of the area, so we’d head over to the McGovern Centennial Gardens. This stunning botanical garden is a peaceful escape and a perfect place to wander around, enjoy the lush greenery, and take some beautiful photos.
Next, we’d dive into the vibrant culture of Chinatown, where we could explore the unique shops and visit the Hong Kong Market, which is full of amazing finds. It’s such a fun area with so much to see and do! For a bit of adventure, I’d take them to the Downtown Aquarium, which is a mix of entertainment and an aquarium with fun rides, or, if they’re into science, the Houston Museum of Natural Science for an exciting and educational experience.
Finally, I’d take them to The Menil Collection, an art gallery that’s uniquely beautiful and filled with thought-provoking art. It’s the perfect place to end our day, soaking in some culture and reflecting on all the fun we’ve had.
There are so many amazing places to visit in the Greater Houston area, and I honestly feel like I’ve only scratched the surface! Whether it’s food, nature, or culture, Houston offers an endless array of experiences. I’d make sure my friend leaves with a ton of great memories—and still a list of things to check out on their next visit!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Throughout my journey, I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have had many people who have inspired, encouraged, and supported me along the way. One of my biggest inspirations has always been my grandmother, who is no longer with us. She was the one who first sparked my love for plants and flowers. As a child, I would spend hours in her garden, helping her tend to her beautiful rose bushes and other plants. She was always so encouraging, teaching me about the plants, animals, and nature in general. Although I lost her at a young age, the impact she made on my life has stayed with me, and I carry her lessons with me every day.
Another person who has been a huge inspiration to me is my uncle. Although he tragically passed away at a young age, he was also a florist, and I often think about how proud he would be of me. He never had the opportunity to start his own floral design business, but in a sense, I feel like I’ve fulfilled a dream he had. I’m the first person in my family to open a floral design company, and I can’t help but feel like I’ve started a legacy for both of us, one that I know he would be incredibly proud of.
I also have to thank my partner, Ryan Sanchez. Ryan has been such a significant figure in my life. Not only has he been instrumental in helping me build this business from the ground up, but he has also made me a better person. He is an incredibly intelligent, driven, and determined individual who has taught me so much. He’s truly a go-getter, and the energy and positivity he brings into the world is unmatched. I’m so grateful to have him by my side.
Additionally, I want to acknowledge our newest team members, Molly and Victoria. They are a hardworking, dynamic mother-daughter duo who have helped Euphoria Flowers reach new heights. Their dedication, creativity, and outstanding customer service have been invaluable to our growth, and they bring so many fresh ideas to the table. We wouldn’t be where we are without them.
I also want to give a huge thank you to Mario Frias, who has played a pivotal role in making all of our deliveries possible. He handles even the largest deliveries with ease and professionalism, and we are so lucky to have him on our team.
Finally, I’d like to shout out all the designers I’ve had the privilege of working with over the years. People like Jimmy Castillo, a talented designer and one of my best friends, as well as Keiko, Elizabeth, Monica Ponce, and Karina. Their creativity and support have shaped who I am as a designer, and I’ll always be grateful for the lessons I’ve learned from each of them.
In short, I’ve had so many incredible people in my life who have helped shape my journey. I owe so much of my success to them, and I carry their encouragement and wisdom with me as I continue to build Euphoria Flowers.
