We had the good fortune of connecting with Robine Lane and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Robine, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from Houston, Texas from the Northside, Trinity Garden area, a poverty stricken low-income community. Seeing all the ups and downs that festered from my mom being a single mother doing the best she could to raise three kids on her own with little to no help at all, gave me the push and tenacity to become something great with a promising career and future so I won’t struggle as an adult.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am the proud owner/operator of Bro. Lane’s Kooking Kuisine & Katering, specializing in Komfort foods such as Seafood, Soul Food, American Food, Italian Food, and Finger Foods. What I believe that sets me apart from others is that I sincerely take my time to ensure that every customer is 💯 % satisfied by applying sincere passion to the dishes I create in order to earn a respected taste. I am where I am business-wise is ultimately because of a rigorous approach of consistency being applied to accomplish my goal. It was not easy, but with the consistency and determination despite all obstacles along the way has produced positive results of success. The lessons learned along the way are to not allow the opinions of others to stop you or distract you from what you know you have been called and destined to do. What I want the world to know about my brand and story is that as a business owner I highly emphasize and exercise much integrity and professionalism with all whom I come across when serving, because people will never forget how you’ve made them feel.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The best time ever I would show anyone that’s visiting is as followed: Attending some of the greatest attractions Houston has to offer such as Downtown Houston venues, Galleria Mall for upscale shopping, fine dining at Phil & Dereks, The Breakfast Klub, The Turkey Leg Hut and more Fun and exciting things to ck out is Painting w/a Twist, Movie Attractions, the latest musical or play in town. Last but certainly not least a day of worship at church.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to first and foremost God, without him none of my accomplishments would be possible . My grandmother, the late Earnestine Lane and my mom Alisia Lane who both have been very instrumental in my upbringing, and consistently encouraging, pushing and supporting me to greatness. Lastly, I would like to give a shout out to my Pastor/Spiritual Father, Bishop Roshaun O’Bryant, a man with much integrity and wisdom who has steered me in the right direction and path through the most tumultuous times of my life.
