We had the good fortune of connecting with Ronda Ross and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ronda, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
As the owner of Texas Living Company real estate brokerage I wear many hats. I support my agents daily to secure clients, negotiate deals and help them with many questions that come up during the transaction. I also still represent my own personal clients and builders that have been with me for many years. When I am working with a client I show up to everything and help them through all their situations from the first day to years after we close on their home.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Starting my own real estate brokerage has been my biggest achievement to date. I have been a realtor for close to 10 years and took the leap during Covid after helping other agents for years at the different brokerages I worked at. Agents I have helped in the past have asked me throughout the years if I would be opening my own since they come to me for help and advice instead of the broker. We have only been open a little over a year but it has been a great year of overcoming challenges, learning from other business leaders and growth. I am really excited to see what each year will bring us.

My biggest professional challenge to date has been leaving the oil and gas industry and moving into the real estate industry. I made the change because I love architecture and helping people. Starting a new job that was commission based only with no salary, client leads or help was a true challenge. I had to learn everything on my own from how to find clients, how to complete a contract and the process that goes along with in. My love for helping people and making sure the educate myself and provide the best service is what helped me push through the change. I also have a wonderful group of people cheering me on.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite restaurants: I like to go to support local businesses and here are some of my favorite: Nancy’s Hustle, Toulouse for drinks on the patio, Davis St., D’alba, Piggy’s for brunch, White Elm,

Culture Places: We have so many amazing museums and parks that I love to show people.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Real estate honestly can be a lonely industry. I went to many trainings and continue to, made a point to network and truly take care of my clients so that my business is 100% referral and repeat customers. In my spare time I do volunteer at various non-profit organizations in the community.
