We had the good fortune of connecting with Sandrine Farges and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sandrine, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Being specialist in Mid Century Modern lighting requires at the same time artistic and historic skills: eye education, production techniques and materials knowledge, history of arts, of cultures, all these combined to your taste, your inspiration and vision. These elements are entertaining my life and make my little heart happy! And I realize now, that creativity is limitless.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What I have learnt along those years in business: patience, faith, to mix with work, analyse, auto-analyse. Which gives you modesty, trough the satisfaction to evolve and learn everyday.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
This would be some places in different cities, as we are always traveling to buy our lighting, within Europe. Most of the time, Venice and Murano, in Italy. I would recommend to visit also the tiny cities around Venice, where rich families had their summer palaces.: Mira, Mirano, Dolo….

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would never had accomplished this career without my dear partner Jean: Educated in fine antiques by his family and studies, he has a large knowledge, that was part of my education and the cement of our business. Over the 20 years of business, creating D’Lightus together, we reciprocally encouraged each other, and stayed linked facing the ups & downs.Today, still together; and willing to learn even more, and bring the best of European Mid Century Modern Lighting & decor to our stores: Dallas showroom & online.
