Meet Sarah Reyna | Owner & Stylist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Reyna and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sarah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to change the salon experience for women with textured hair. Growing up I was never able to enjoy going to the salon, I always felt like the stylist didn’t know how to handle my hair or that my hair was a burden.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I graduated from Paul Mitchel in 2018 and immediately joined a salon to start my apprenticeship as a hair stylist.
Shortly after working there, I realized the salon did not cater to women with textured hair. It sparked a fire in me to pursue education from other stylists in the industry. To name a few, I had the honor of learning from some of the greats such as Reiona, Leysa and Nubia. I wanted to learned from the best so I could establish my own techniques. Which is how I curated the “Curl Boss” signature cut.
In 2021 is when I opened my first salon, my brand and team are still growing and my life is a dream. Nothing great comes easy but I definitely feel like I’m moving in my purpose.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My right hand, my best friend and salon manager Ashley Zeigler.
