We had the good fortune of connecting with Scotty Joseph and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Scotty, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Coming from New York City, electric bikes are an integral part delivery and transportation. HOUSTON being the fourth largest city is my ancestral home, and as my parents age, I needed to find a way to be closer to them and follow my passion.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Sure, I’d be happy to tell you more about my business.

I started ScottysBikes in 2022 with the goal of providing a fun and eco-friendly way for people to explore Houston. I’m a local entrepreneur and I’m passionate about making a difference in my community. I believe that electric bikes are a great way to get around and I’m excited to see more people using them.

What sets ScottysBikes apart from other electric bike rental companies is our focus on customer service. We want to make sure that our customers have a great experience from start to finish. We offer delivery and pickup services, so you don’t have to worry about finding parking or carrying your bike around. We also have a team of experienced and knowledgeable staff who can help you choose the right bike for your needs.

I’m most proud of the fact that ScottysBikes is a MBE, which stands for Minority Business Enterprise. This means that we are owned and operated by a minority group. I’m excited to be a part of the growing movement of minority-owned businesses in Houston.

Getting to where I am today business-wise has not been easy. There have been many challenges along the way, but I’ve learned a lot and I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had. One of the biggest challenges was raising the capital to start the business. I also had to learn a lot about the electric bike industry and how to run a business. But I’ve been fortunate to have the support of my family and friends, and I’m grateful for their help.

I’ve learned a lot along the way, but here are a few of the most important lessons:

* Never give up on your dreams.
* Surround yourself with positive people who believe in you.
* Be persistent and never give up.
* Be willing to learn and adapt.
* Be patient and don’t expect overnight success.

I want the world to know that ScottysBikes is a company that is committed to providing a great customer experience. We are passionate about electric bikes and we want to help more people experience the joy of riding one. We are also committed to giving back to our community and we support a number of local organizations.

I’m excited to see what the future holds for ScottysBikes. I believe that electric bikes are the future of transportation and I’m excited to be a part of that movement. I’m also excited to continue to grow my business and make a difference in my community.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to make a shout out and dedication to all the social riders and cyclists who brave Americas streets, not knowing if they will be struck down for simply enjoying riding a bicycle. Tour De Hood, luminous nightcrawlers, Street Ridaz, other brothas, illegal amigos bike crew, ratchet riders, clutch City Cruisers and critical mass htx.
