We had the good fortune of connecting with Sherrie Frank and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sherrie, what’s one piece of conventional advice that you disagree with?
Just believe it and it will happen.

I do agree that is fine and the right thing to do: BELIEVE but FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD. You have to actually start DOING something. You can’t just sit all day everyday and keep believing and you haven’t done the actual research and what your business outline should be, actual tried to save the last dollars you may have to buy inventory etc, the list goes on.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I initially started selling women/men accessories in September 2019 online via Facebook and Instagram live shows. I would go live and have my setup displaying all of my items and would most importantly interact with the people that would tune in daily. It was no problem for me to go live or speak publicly anywhere at anytime as I was brought up as a little girl in Arkansas knowing the importance of voice. Going live was an adrenaline for me as I have always been a “people person” who could just hold an entire conversation whether I had just met you or had a relationship with you over years. I connected with people and became just one of their (Snabbers) connections for them to vent, to laugh, to ask questions, to trust, to shop etc. I built a relationship with all of my Snabbers from Texas, Arkansas, all the way to the Virgin Islands. It was unexplainable. They saw my life and saw that I was a real person with real everyday journeys finding purpose. My business expanded rapidly and I remember saying the things I didn’t want to be or become, i.e. Coach/Pusher and sell women clothing. God definitely had to remind me or should I say Push my Purpose right in my face to where there was no escape but to EXECUTE. In January 2020 I launched Snabbs Enterprises Incorporated and became “Coach Snabb” and started a mentorship program to assist/uplift/shift minds of aspiring business owners; to tell my testimony and assure them that when you know PURPOSE it has to be EXECUTED. Helping businesses with startups, the how to, and the when to during their business venture was now something to place under my belt. My mentorship grew rapidly and is currently doing well. In October 2020 I purchased a “Snabb Shed” and held a ribbon cutting for my business as I could no longer utilize any other space in my home. I remember writing my favorite scripture Jeremiah 29:11 on the inside wall/foundation of my shed and all I could think of was the trust that I have ALWAYS had in God and how He has never abandoned me. So I kept saying back to God ” Well since you know the plans you have for me….I will just keep right on walking” not knowing what was ahead for me and my business. We were growing rapidly once again and God said time to move….THE BIG MOVE. In September 2021 my commercial realtor Michelle Johnson worked diligently to find the perfect space for what is now called “Snabbs Galore Boutique/Lounge”.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take them to see the highlights of Downtown and the Greater Third Ward and all the history it has to offer which is a culturally rich, historically African-American neighborhood that houses Texas Southern University, the University of Houston, and Emancipation Park which is a 10-acre park founded by formerly enslaved people that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. Definitely would grab some of my fav dishes from The Doshi House and to the Sunshine’s Health Food & Vegetarian Deli. Then at some point take a drive or stroll depending on the location to the famous Graffiti Park, near the Downtown area of Houston. Here incredibly talented artists spray paint political messages and stunning designs is a must go!
Off to Buffalo Bayou Park is a 160 acre recreational park enjoyed by so many near and far. You can get a great photo of the Houston skyline from the George Bush statue or book in for an underground Cistern tour that is also sometimes a temporary art space if that is your sort of thing. Just near the underground Cistern tour is supposed to be one of the most popular selfie spots with a view of the Houston skyline in the background.
Of course you can’t come to Houston without checking out The Turkey Leg Hut and Krab Queenz!!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family, my husband “Frank” who has stepped up to support and push me. He has been one of the driving forces in more ways than one from loading unloading inventory, painting, and construction even after his regular 9-5 job. To my sons Anthony and Jaylen thank you for the last minute drop offs, the schedule interruptions for the post office runs, the unloading of boxes etc. To my only Princess Reagan thank you for helping Mommy laugh and still wanting to make sure Mommy is ok and relaxing.

Thank you to my dear friends who listen to me cry, rant, laugh, and vent in such a fabulous way. Thank you Beauties for pushing and most importantly PRAYER: Dionne, Sonya, Bridgett, Sophie, Cassie, Lisa, My Precious Der (Ruth Trahan) who has guided me with so much spiritual insight. Carrye Parker for setting so many examples when you didn’t think I was watching ever so closely.
Thank you Dr. Coach Connie Stewart, The Pusher, you came into my life at the right time and I am grateful for insight and wisdom to so much more that God has for SGE.
Thank you to the Snabb Mentees, Snabbers thank you for trusting me to keep providing you with quality apparel!

Thank you to my Greater Vision Church Family, Pastor L.D.Lee Sr. and First Family Lee!!

Last but not least of order: Thank you to my parents, the late Roy Lee Hawkins Sr. and to my mother Sammie Hawkins of Dermott, Arkansas. Without my Dad, there would be no Snabbs and I am proud to carry out this legacy Daddy!!
