Meet Shubrato Mitra | India’s Youngest Podcaster & Founder of Golden Metro Show

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shubrato Mitra and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shubrato, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success has been the ability to evolve fearlessly while staying true to my purpose. My journey began in 2020 during the pandemic, when I was just a teenager editing small gameplay videos and posting them online. Those early experiments taught me consistency and curiosity, two habits that would later define my career.
Over the next few years, I transitioned into lifestyle influencing and even won influencer competitions, which helped me understand the power of storytelling and personal branding. But the real turning point was the network I built along the way. Networking became one of my strongest pillars. Meeting creators, artists, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders opened my mind to new perspectives and showed me what was possible.
My journey was not smooth. Many people underestimated me. Some said I was not fluent enough, some believed an introverted kid would not go far, and others thought I would not be able to build anything meaningful. Instead of breaking me, their doubts became fuel. I kept learning, improving, and showing up even when no one was watching.
Eventually, this desire to grow and contribute led to the birth of Golden Metro Show. As an 19-year-old stepping into the world of podcasting, my intention was to educate and inspire. I wanted to create conversations that informed, motivated, and connected with young people like me. I allowed myself to learn publicly, to evolve in real time, and to build a platform that stands for authenticity and youth empowerment.
If I had to name the most important factor behind my success, it would be the combination of courage, adaptability, authentic purpose, and the willingness to grow in front of the world. These values helped me rise above doubts, create meaningful content, and build a brand that resonates with people across India.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is storytelling. Whether it is through a podcast, a conversation, or a piece of content, I create to educate, inspire, and connect. What sets me apart is that I began very young, and I allow my audience to grow with me. I don’t present myself as someone who has all the answers. Instead, I share my journey openly, learn in public, and bring real, unfiltered conversations to the youth through The Golden Metro Show.
My creative journey started unexpectedly in 2020 during the pandemic. I was just a kid editing gameplay videos, experimenting with content, and discovering the digital world. Over time I became a lifestyle influencer, won competitions, and slowly built confidence in front of the camera. Networking with creators, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders played a huge role in shaping my mindset and showing me what was possible.
But my path was not easy. I was an introvert, insecure about my voice, and there were people who openly underestimated me. Some said I was not fluent enough, some believed I wouldn’t be able to build anything serious, and others thought I would quit. Instead of stopping, I used their doubt as motivation. I kept learning, improving, and creating even when no one was watching.
Starting my podcast at eighteen was a turning point. It was new, raw, and different, but it gave me a way to express myself and educate others at the same time. I am most proud of the fact that I did not wait for perfection. I started with what I had and allowed myself to evolve in real time. Today, youth from all over the country connect with my content because it feels real, relatable, and honest.
One of the biggest lessons I have learned is that creativity grows when you are not afraid to fail. Every mistake shaped me. Every conversation improved me. Every challenge taught me something new about myself as a creator.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is simple. The Golden Metro Show is not just a podcast. It is a space for young people to feel heard, to learn, and to discover perspectives that can shape their future. My story is proof that you do not need to be perfect, famous, or experienced to start. You just need courage, consistency, and the willingness to grow in public.
I am still learning, still evolving, and still building. And that is the beauty of my art.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting the city for a week, I would make sure they experience everything I personally love about Dehradun and the nearby hills.
We’d start the trip with something meaningful, like a visit to Tapkeshwar Temple. The atmosphere there is calming, deeply grounding, and sets the perfect tone for the rest of the week. It is the kind of place where you can slow down, connect with your inner self, and feel a spiritual energy that stays with you throughout the trip. After that, the Forest Research Institute would be next on the list. It is one of the most cinematic and beautiful locations in the city and perfect for long walks and photos.
For food and café hopping, I’d take them to my absolute favorite spots. Orchard Café for its peaceful vibe, AMA Café for its cozy and aesthetic atmosphere, Foresta for a great mix of ambience and food, and Sosoru for incredible sushi and Asian flavours. These places are perfect for long conversations and enjoying the creative energy of the city.
A day trip to Mussoorie would definitely be part of the plan. Watching the sunrise from George Everest, exploring the viewpoints, and hopping through the small cafés around Mall Road always creates unforgettable memories.
For nature lovers, Maldevta and Sahastradhara offer a beautiful break. Sitting by the water, talking, and letting the calmness of the surroundings sink in adds a special touch to the trip. And if they enjoy exploring the city, Pacific Mall,Mall Of Dehradun & Paltan Bazaar would also be fun stops.
But more than the places, I’d want them to meet the people. Dehradun has some of the warmest and most inspiring individuals like creators, entrepreneurs, artists, and locals who bring unique stories and energy to the city. Connecting with them is a big part of what makes this city feel alive.
By the end of the week, I’d want my friend to feel what I feel every day: that Dehradun is not just a scenic place, but a city full of stories, creativity, culture, spirituality, and incredibly good vibes.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
If there is one thing I have learned on my journey, it is that no one succeeds alone. I owe a huge part of my growth to the people who stood by me long before anyone knew my name.
First, I want to thank my parents for giving me the freedom to explore content creation even while I was still studying. Balancing academics and creating content at a young age was not easy, but their trust in me gave me the confidence to keep going and to choose a path that felt true to who I am.
I also want to acknowledge my closest friends, who believed in me during the years when I doubted myself. They encouraged me when I felt insecure about my voice, motivated me during my influencer journey, and celebrated every small milestone with me.
A special shoutout goes to my team. They are the backbone of many things I do today. From ideation to production to execution, they have stood by me, pushed me to think bigger, and worked with me through long hours, shoots, edits, and unpredictable schedules. Their dedication means a lot to me, and Golden Metro Show would not be the same without their efforts.
My journey has also been shaped by countless mentors and creators I met through networking. Many of them guided me, shared their knowledge, opened doors, and helped me level up as a young creator and podcaster. Networking has been one of the biggest blessings in my career, and I am grateful for every connection that shaped my mindset.
Lastly, I want to appreciate my audience. From my early days as a lifestyle creator to now hosting The Golden Metro Show, they have supported me, trusted me, and allowed me to evolve publicly. Their love fuels my passion every single day.
My success is not just mine. It belongs to everyone who believed in me, supported me, and helped me become the person I am becoming.
