We had the good fortune of connecting with Sid Karim and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sid, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
It was always very frustrating for me working for other businesses and not being able to improve the way things are done. Many businesses are set in their ways and they do things a certain way because it’s the way they have always done it. I wanted to create a company that is efficient and flexible. A company that listens to the customers and is always improving.

What should our readers know about your business?
At intensity fitness we are in personal training gym first. We get to know our customers we listen to them we want to know what they want and how we can best serve. I am proud that Many of my clients are like family and we treat each other like so. I like to keep everything open and transparent. The good the bad and the ugly. I like to keep open dialogue with my clients and listen to their insights.

I am excited about our future! I have plans to make everything better and always striving towards continuous process improvement.

I got to where I am today but being open and honest. My friends my family and people who know me can attest that I try to keep everything 100% honest..even if it’s not what they want to hear haha. It’s not always easy businesswise because some people have a hard time excepting the truth but I only know one way to communicate and that is with honesty.

Some of the lessons I’ve learned along the way or that you have to know your worth. People will only value you as much as you value yourself. If you allow them to take advantage of you they absolutely will and in the end you can blame no one but yourself!

I want the world To know that everything you in life is a choice. You have to make up your mode and make a decision. you always have a choice! you can choose to do things the easy way or you can choose things the hard way. My story is about doing things the hard way. The right way! My way! I have had to work hard for everything I have in life and it is the only way o know!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
That’s a great question. Since Houston has so many great places to eat most of our activities will be centered around food first . so let’s say I am picking them up from Bush international Airport and they are hungry the first place I will stop is Alwaadi Mediterranean restaurant off JFK. Now if they’re in the mood for all you can eat Mediterranean we have to go by Dimassis. The rest of the week depending on our appetite We have to go to OMG Burger were the best burgers and chicken wings in town. We also have to go to mikes seafood off Highway six and Bissonnet for some of the best seafood in town. And when we want to eat healthy we will go to Salata for some good greens.

As far as activity we definitely have to see the galleria. Next we will go to Galveston and enjoy the beach. For breakfast we definitely have to go to Miller’s off the seawall. Also depending on if they have kids or not we will go to Houston museum of Arts/discovery Green and eat at the Phoenicia restaurant downtown.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
