We had the good fortune of connecting with Bryanal Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bryanal, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
As a child I’ve always dreamed of starting my own business. I would watch television shows dealing with business and companies then imagine when my opportunity would manifest. Dreaming of a lifestyle of business has created a passion inside which makes me appreciate what and how my business presents.
What should our readers know about your business?
Unc B’s Seasonings is a Veteran owned business located in Houston Texas. We provide all natural spice/seasoning blends and pickled products with Low-Sodium and No-Sodium options plus garlic is our main ingredient.
What sets us apart: We lead with Garlic as the main ingredient not Salt.
Another leading factor: We give you straight spices. Our spice blends are designed to be used in small quantities.

I got started 20 years ago with the Airforce in culinary school. This is where I found my passion for food.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
All my friends know that my time is a valuable part of my life. This visit shall be on to remember.
My guests arrive that evening to a nice private meal courtesy of the chef of the home. We would laugh and talk about our friends long trip plus catch up their life’s day to day experiences. Later that evening would be a easy relaxing time. I want my guests to rest up for tomorrow’s activities.
Since I live in Houston Texas it’s going to have to be about the food.
That next day we would hit the town and grab some tacos. Next we would head down to the beach and take advantage of the wind and water. From there we should have an appetite for the biggest bbq baked potato with chopped beef, smoked sausages, and to add insult to injury a big fat rib to top it off. They’re going to need a nap after this.
That evening we’re going to get out and do some sight seeing plus show off some of my towns landmarks and maybe even stop by a lounge or two. It would be a nice relaxing weekend.
On that final day I would let my friends give suggestions on what they would like to do.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Matt Phillips is a good friend of mine whom I own credit for that push into today’s successes. My life before business was driving OTR across the country.
Matt and I became close one evening at a truck stop in the middle of a corn field. We hit it off after understanding we were going to be stuck there for three days because our loads were not ready. We decided to make the best of thing and few drinks later we were sitting on top of our trailers having a blast. We became the best of friends til this day.
Now what pushed me into action: Matt threatened to beat me up if I didn’t start my business lol…. that really got my attention. I didn’t realize subconsciously that’s all I talked about for years according to Matt.
I can honestly say Matt is the one that saw my destiny when I couldn’t and drove me into what I am today: A successful business owner.
